Unfortunately, I haven't read all 4 books to this series. I have however read Book One and will continue to read the rest after I finish writing this review. This book starts right off from where I would assume The Prince ends, so I was a bit confused at first, but I caught up fairly quickly. This story doesn't hold back. It brings you right into all the drama, not spearing a thing. I was quickly drawn in and could not put this down. Bre and Caden’s relationship is hot, hot, hot! Ugh at times I couldn't take it. I honestly wanted to throw my phone because of the tension. The only issue that I had, like in the first book in the series, I guessed what the plot was fairly quickly. Not a huge fan of predictability, but I overall loved the story and every single character. Though I know what was coming, my lord, how it went around to that end just about killed me. Have I ever been so obsessed with one story? I don't think so. I am really enjoying the Fae world. It is fresh new and exciting and literally out of this world (Sorry I had to say it.) I cannot wait to finish this series in full.

The sequel novella of The Prince starts with a blast, you don’t have time to think, only to know what’s happening. We follow Bri and Caden, my new favorite couple from Jen’s books, as they fight against an old enemy. This book was a lot more mature, had a lot of difficult themes, and a few scenes were even crude (perfect for the type of book in my opinion). I finished it in a day, I had to know how Bri and Caden’s relationship was going to go and I couldn’t wait to see a few characters again.

I can't go into too much detail, because The King is novella. If I dive into the story too much, you won't have to read it at all. To start off I have to say that I'm happy I knew that we were getting a third novella while reading this, but that did nothing to help me prepare for the ending of The King. I was left speechless and with so many questions. Waiting a whole year for the next novella is going to be difficult!

This novella picks up where The Prince ended. Brighton is still busy avenging her mother's death and Caden has some changes to adjust to being The King. I loved how sassy Brighton is and how Caden can be so demanding it's just frustrating, haha. He's definitely an alpha male that expects Brighton to do what he says.

Not all goes as planned and there is so much emotion in this book. I really felt for Brighton and Jennifer did it again with how everything was set up. Besides all the feels, there are also plenty of funny moments and references to my favorite fandoms. And Tink of course, he's amazing as always. I really hope he eventually gets his own story.

I didn't give this novella five stars, because I really would've liked at least one to two chapters from Caden's POV. While I kind of understand why the author didn't do this, I think at certain points it would've made this story just a bit more intense! With how amazing this story is, I would love full books, but I'll be happy with what I get. I will be counting the days until we get the next novella!

The King is very similar to some events that happen in Wicked, It was hard reading about Brighton being tortured while being held captive by Aric. A lot of things happen in this novella it was an emotional read. I feel that Brighton is one of the best heroines that Jennifer L. Armentrout has wrote about in her books. The cliffhanger at the end was a little bit obvious but I enjoyed it. (hide spoiler)]

If you saw my review for The Prince last year, you'll know I had some pretty strong thoughts about it. I wasn't aware Bri and Caden's story was a trilogy when I started. Had I been, I still would've read it, but I would've been prepared mentally for cliffhangers. Despite the few issues I had with The Prince (some of which were more about my mood than the book, in hindsight) I still couldn't wait to get my hands on The King. I absolutely had to know what happened next. And here I thought I was prepared...

But holy crap, y'all. This book. My body was not ready for it. The story picked up right after The Prince and it didn't take long at all for me to get sucked back into the story. Probably even more so than I was with the first book, because I was basically desperate to know where the story would go. Of course, I'm not going to tell you anything about the plot beyond "gird your loins". Things get real fast. Hang on tight and enjoy the ride. 

Bri and Caden's story is so, so good. It's a huge understatement to say things are difficult between them, but I freaking love them together. This setting, the characters (Tink!) and the twists and turns of the story kept me flipping pages. It ended far too soon. The wait until the final installment is going to be brutal, but I'm here for it. The countdown has started!
