This was an amazing book!!!! Didn’t want it to end. Disappointed it took me so long to read @tofftalks June pick for her book club but it was a story I needed to read. 
Rosemary’s and Kate’s friendship holds many life lessons that readers of all ages can take something from. One of the only books in a while that has brought tears to my eyes therefore earning it 5 stars. 
For George who loved this view, and for Rosemary who saved it....
Libby Page is an extremely talented author and I can’t wait to read more from her.

The Lido is without a doubt one of my favorite reads of the year, and it’s perfect for summer reading! It tells the story of Kate, a lonely 26-year-old reporter with an anxiety problem (hellooo relatability), and Rosemary, an 86-year-old widow who swims every morning at her local community pool (or lido, as some would call it). The lido is in danger of closing and Kate is set to report on this bit of news, interviewing Rosemary in the process. What Kate doesn’t know, however, is that through her time spent at the lido and with Rosemary, she will learn how to change her life and discover friendships that will turn into family. This was such a simple but heartfelt story, I enjoyed every minute of it. The characters felt real and relatable, and Libby Page did a fantastic job of making a potentially mundane subject into a heartwarming, page-turning story. If you haven’t heard of this book yet, do yourself a favor and get a copy. I’d recommend it to everyone but especially for fans of Fredrik Backman, particularly if you enjoyed A Man Called Ove.
