Llevaba posponiendo este libro durante años, y finalmente de la nada me entraron ganas de empezarlo. Es una historia muy bonita, aunque creo que la habría disfrutado muchísimo más un par de años atrás. Es una historia con la clase de amistades que me gusta muchísimo, de hecho, es un libro que celebra la amistad y la importancia de esta en la vida de los adolescentes. La relación entre Penny Lane y Ryan me gustaba mucho, en general es una historia adorable y disfruté mucho leerla, pero meh... no fue memorable y tampoco cambió nada en mí. Ojalá la hubiese leído con dieciséis años, probablemente ahora les estaría fangirleando intensamente. Estoy segura de que la Fátima de esa edad estaría súper in love con esta historia, como lo estuvo con ¿Y si quedamos como amigos? de la misma autora. Pero mi yo del presente ni siquiera va a continuar con la segunda parte, no porque sea mala, en lo absoluto, sino porque tiene más interés en otros libros.

The first book I read from Elizabeth Eulberg was actually her most recently release, Better Off Friends. I fell in love with that book pretty hard. It was sweet, fun, and I’m such a sucker for friends-turned-lovers romances. After enjoying that one as much as I did, I went looking for more Eulberg books. Then I came across this one, which I felt was definitely worth a read. After I saw it available on Audible, I downloaded, immediately started it, and listened to the entire book in one sitting.

Penny was sick of all things involving boys. With the help of a friend, they create The Lonely Hearts Club, a group of people all sick of love and dating. The group met each week, a way to ensure they spent this time together each week, no matter what. A great sense of friendship shone throughout this story. They decided to free their lives of boys and dating for at least a while… but that became very difficult once Penny started having feelings for a boy. 

We see often how the MC grows and changes throughout the story. But this story was even more than that. It wasn’t simply our main character that grew as a person… the secondary characters did as well. All of these characters were important to the story and made it out to be so much more. This story had a lot of great lessons that teens can learn, such as being true to your friends and not dissing them for a guy. Don’t settle for less than you deserve. Don’t change who you are just so you can be sure you’ll have a date for a dance. Be yourself, be confident, and the rest will fall into place.

What first caught my attention about this cover was The Beatles reference. I wasn’t aware that so much of this story would surround the band. Though I’m not a big fan of The Beatles, it was cute to see all of the references throughout. 

Another cute story from an author I’ll be sure to read more from in the future. I was super excited to see a second book was coming out in this series this year. I’ll be reading We Can Work it Out soon too.

Audiobook Impressions 
Quick and enjoyable for an audiobook. Since I listen to books on 1.5x or 2x speed, this 6 1/2 hr book flew by in only a few hours. I really enjoyed it. Khristine Hvam did a great job keeping this book sounding light and fun.

BEAUTIFUL i'am fascinated at how well elizabeth desribed the characters, and the protagonist seemed rational enough, she wasn't whiny or overly confident, she was just a normal girl who made a decision, to change the way she lives, and i think that teenage girls should read this book, really.

I'm no saying that all guys are evil like she thought at first, i just say we should think of it better before doing ANYTHING with a guy. 

Anyways, i just want to say that as a teenage girl, it really helped me see some things i hadn't considered before...
i really can't explain it... but OH CRAP YOU JUST HAVE TO READ IT
