The Lost Girls: A Vampire Revenge Story

I had so much fun with this!! It’s not a long book, it took me maybe 4 hours total to finish but it was really good!! I’m kinda obsessed with Holly and Parker (and Ida and Rose too.)

It has everything I wanted, interesting Vampire lore (I’ve never read a book with lore quite like this one it was super cool!!), sapphic romance, revenge plot, a girl gang!! I’m starting to realise those are all things I love in books so this was really perfect for me.

Honestly if you liked Undead Girl Gang please read this!! You won’t be disappointed!!

The ending was so bittersweet, I almost hope for a sequel.

It was just a bit underwhelming really.

Wasn’t really what I was expecting from the tagline on the back “the best way to get over your vampire ex is to kill him and steal his girlfriend”. I was expecting a more chaotic, savvy, and flirty protagonist but she was just a bit meh? A lot of the lore didn’t really make sense - how have they done so much research if there’s so little info and there’s no formal government/archive? And I would have liked more of the other ex’s, Rose and Ida, we weren’t really shown much of their relationship or how they got close with Holly if they even did. Also the strange insertion of Holly’s human bff was kinda random?

(2.5 rounded up)… this book was really entertaining! It had rlly good humour and fun characters. The premise of this book was amazing and I was so excited to start this book — yet I found myself disappointed while reading. I feel that there was too much filler and unnecessary information which made this hard to get through. Such an interesting premise with bad execution is rlly a shame - because it could’ve easily been a 5-star read if the filler was cut out. Other than that there were some really nice moments in this book, (spoilers), like when the mc went to visit her mom :,). 

Even though I gave it 2.5, if it’s on your tbr give it a read! It’s short and really funny so if your looking for a comedic book about sapphic vampires, READ IT!

Sapphic book with 'john tucker must die' vibes but with vampires? This book completely thrilled me. Let's start with the cover; from the color to the design, everything about it is fascinating and appealing. Just seeing it was enough to add this book to my TBR. The plot seemed super interesting to me and I would have loved to see more plot development. I have a pretty big problem here, and that is: having immortal characters in romantic relationships with teenagers. It's grooming at its finest. Other than that, I was hoping for more of their romance; I wanted to feel more of a connection between them.

Holly is an excellent MC! I'm just going to start with that, because while this book felt too long and yet too short at the same time, Holly kept me entertained through it all. For starters, working at Taco Bell, which I found really funny for some reason. Like the thought of a vampire working at a fast food restaurant, hating her life and her decision, basically sulking, is absolutely hilarious. And then we find out her ex-boyfriend is the one who turned her and lied, saying she was the only one, when there were two other girls.

Yikes.

And, and, to top things off, he has another girl set in sight. So the three of them decide to kill him.

I love this idea.

The book started off super strong. Like I was so invested in this story, but halfway through, it started to fall flat. Some aspects of the book felt rushed, like the romance between Parker and Holly, while other parts felt really dragged out, like Holly and her best friend reconciling.

Overall, I loved the lore, the background/set up for this book, and Holly as an MC in general. While there were some things I wasn't a fan of, overall, I really liked this book and think it's a great vampire novel! Though it's more cynical, this book has some great humor and important lessons every teenager dreaming of becoming immortal should think about.
