i wish the first book was on here because that would also be a 5 star book. i read it so fast. 

i’m completely obsessed with this trope and story line. normally for me, the second book never lives up to the first one. i’m typically really over it before i’m even half way. this one keeps you on your toes and it’s a continuation of the first books love story just more intense. 

left me on such a cliff hanger i can’t wait to dive into the 3rd book!!!

Lylah is a freaking mastermind when it comes to books. I am obsessed with book number two! There is sooo much happening in this one that you won’t be able to put it down. There are some scenes that are REALLY graphic but it adds to the awesomeness of the story, like it has to be there to make the story so powerful. We get to see less of Alessio and Ayla together in this book but don’t take that as if the chemistry has fallen away, I would say that it highlights how much Alessio feels about this broken, beautiful, young girl. 
Reading this on wattpad a few years ago and now reading a PUBLISHED version of it. It’s truly remarkable! 
What’s more amazing is the way the author describes things. Her writing style is amazing and it keeps you hooked till way past the ending of the book. It makes you CRAVE reading more. I could not put any of Lylahs books down. I read all of them in one day each. They are that amazing.

Alessio is not a patience man but loved how slowly was with her. That is the moment really fell in love with his character. Good dark romance that was not overly dark. It has some dark moments that flow with the plot.

Guess what? We are continuing with Tainted Hearts series. The second part of The Mafia and his Angel is out and better than ever.
We continue where we left off in the first part. Alessio and Alya are getting closer than ever. But there are going to be some challenges. They both have heavy baggage that they need time to realize what they are going to do in order to move forward. Alya will have the courage to move on from her past especially in the physical aspect since she faced abuse before. She will finally be able to trust Alessio. But Alessio will need to let go of the past too since he faced his mother died at a young age. It takes time to realize that love can be all, not a tragedy. 
However, there is a big obstacle to their happiness which is the Alya former fiance. He is a terrible human being but he is also the enemy to Alessio that he willing to win the war. The war comes with big consequences that Alessio will face. I will not spoil it but it is going to be heavy and terrible. 
The Mafia and his Angel, part 2 definitely brings the drama but it also has romance. Another addicting part. Five Stars!

Holy moly! This is an amazing series and a very emotionally intense read. Lylah James is insanely talented. The writing is so beautiful, the story gorgeously crafted and the plot deeply evocative. I was hypnotized by the lush love story set amidst the dark and gritty Mafia World. Not to mention all the blood and gore, this series is definitely not for the faint hearts.

Not just the protagonists, Lylah created some incredible multi-faceted supporting characters as well. The entire Ivanshov family will pull at your heartstrings with their own heartbreaking past. The books encompass different aspects like friendship, abuse and betrayals too. I love how the author explored the fears and traumatic pasts and how these characters overcame it.

The Tainted Hearts series revolves around one single plot. While both Part 1 and 2 end in a cliffhanger, Part 3 of The Mafia and His Angel will leave you breathless, stunned at the turn of events and swooning for more. There are more books to this series but Ayla and Alessio’s story ends with Part 3.

Revenge, forgiveness, blood, tears, laughter, love, death and new beginnings- this series has it all. Thank you @ for recommending this series to me. Get your tissues ready, you guys! Cause you’re in for one hell of a ride.

I need to start by saying that I love Aylessio. So much. They are special. The first half of this book was emotionally charged. It starts off right where the previous one left off, and we discover the aftermath of the captivity. In true James fashion, we see and understand Ayla’s fragile state. Her panic attacks make our own hearts race. Her memories assaulting her make us want to comfort her. It’s crazy how REAL mear words on a page can be.

With the threat of Alberto still looming, the book still has some angst, but not as much as the previous two. This was a toned down book. It was all about the aftermath; the post-trauma environment. It was nice, but I’m a savage and wanted more blood and craziness near the end.

However, I am so happy about how the story turned out for Aylessio, and how this is a great jumping off point for many other stories for the other characters. Who’s next? And how fabulous is Nina by the way? I told you guys I’m a savage.

This book made me laugh more than the other two. With less danger, the characters really let loose, and we meet and couple of new ones... Erik’s mine people!

I’m so happy to have picked up this author’s books!
