Although the title suggests that the story would be told mainly from within Auschwitz, this is an incredible story of a brave and humble survivor. It is an important account from a largely unpublished perspective of what happened during those horrific years. 
I am upset to read reviews that imply Denis Avey simpy didn't spend sufficient time in Auschwitz, after risking his life not once but twice in order to try to gather information. This is simply an absurd accusation by those able to sit in the comfort of their warm, cosy homes, with food in our bellies. It took me a while to become engaged as the journey at the beginning is complex but worth it in order to understand; it absolutely had me hooked until the end. Denis Avey you are a hero, thank you for sharing your story.

The Man Who Broke into Auschwitz is the extraordinary true story of a British soldier who marched willingly into the concentration camp, Buna-Monowitz, known as Auschwitz III.
