I've wanted to read this since last year when I read it was going to be published. But I'm a bit disappointed in this book.

The premise seemed interesting. But the execution was flat.

The characters are typical and one dimensional bordering on cliché sometimes. Ivy is a dull protagonist with no character development even at the key points of the story. And the rest of the characters are not interesting either.

The plot was going steady for the first half the story. Then it all went down. There were many twists and turns that weren't at all mysterious ar surprising, only confusing. And by the end it was just annoying.

The best part of this book is the Glen, the community where Ivy lives. It's obviously inspired by secluded communities and religious cults. But it's really very well constructed with its traditions and history and characteristics. 

So, I expected a whole lot more from The May Queen Murders. I think it could have been a very good book. But to me it was boring.
