Even these short stories are so good at giving us that extra glimpse into the character's lives and personalities. Although, having read TWATD in July, I need a recap of the latter half of the book. I don't think I remember why he was killing the girls or what that dude threatened him with. Was it drought?

Ho letto questa novella subito dopo aver terminato The wrath and the dawn sperando che aggiungesse qualche particolare in più a un finale che, parere mio eh non linciatemi, non ha senso. Essendo narrata dal pov di Khalid su un avvenimento degli ultimi capitoli, speravo che avrebbe dissipato qualche dubbio. Ahimè, sembra che io e le novelle di Khalid non andiamo d'accordo. Non ha aggiunto granché, quindi spero solo che iniziando la lettura del secondo ed ultimo libro della serie riesca a capirci qualcosa ;)

I liked that this picked up almost exactly where The Wrath and the Dawn finished. It was really interesting to see the initial aftermath and consequences through Khalid's point of view. I do wish it could have been longer but it's definitely made me even more excited to finally read The Rose and the Dagger!!
