The Missing of Clairdelune
Reviews

An enjoyment to read. Am I confused the whole time? Yes, I am. Do I care? No, I don't.
I love the slowburn between Thorn and Ophelia. And I am along for the ride. I want to keep reading and learn what adventures they go through!

SOO GOOD

Ok, I loved this book. I definitely liked it so much more than the first one. The character developments were so well done and the plot so well constructed that I couldn't help but keep the page-turning. LOVED IT OVERALL. Oh, and especially the romance.

superb, fantastic, showstopping!! im in love with this world and wholly invested in all the characters of this novel, as numerous as they are. so incredibly rich and exciting, i can’t wait for the 3rd book to arrive!

mr darcy from pride and prejudice, Mark darcy from bridget jones and Mr thorn are literally one person and i’m in love with all of them

i’m literally obsessed this series is amazing

Absolutely amazing! Was on the edge of my seat for the better part of half of the book.

It's a 4.5/5 I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH AND I'M GONNA GO STRAIGHT READING THE THIRD ONE Ophelia and Thorn >>>> Second book >>>> First book

This book did not disappoint as a sequel! I found it to be even better than the first one. The Missing of Clairedelune is when Dabos finally seems to be showing us the much larger picture that we never got to see in A Winter’s Promise. There is so much more at play than originally expected and it is in the best way possible. We’re finally learning about the origins of the arks, the family spirits, uncovering some of the mysteries around Thorn and his family AND to top it all off there is a murder mystery that ties into all of it. This was a book that I just couldn’t put down, definitely worth the read.

** spoiler alert ** Pros: Continued world building, lore, interesting plot progression, new characters without being overwhelming, higher stakes, good suspense Cons: the execution of the romance subplot?? Ophelia distinctly complains about Thorn being absent from her and her family for the first 40-50% of the book during which they're just trying to get back on neutral terms. And then we're heavily main plot-focused (minus what felt like a VERY uncharacteristic kiss from Thorn) until just about the end when we're suddenly hit with dramatic displays of affection and confession from both of them...it was a good scene but without buildup, it felt like watching two completely different characters interacting with each other. Also very confusing to literally start fighting God at the eleventh hour I'm not gonna lie Still gonna give it 4 stars though - I mean, I had a good time.

Woah. Woah. Woah.

This series reminds me of Harry Potter but in a post-apocalyptic world and so much more compelling. I wish that there was more romantic moments between Ophelia and Thorn but the world-building and unpredictability make up for it

(4.75) WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT. I don't have the words to describe anything about how I feel or what happened or to write an actual review. I was legitimately SHAKING for the last two hundred pages. holy SHIT.

3.5 stars. I am so torn about this book. It’s so different from anything else I’ve read, but I feel like there’s so much I don’t understand. Things just happen out of the blue and I don’t understand how they all relate to each other. As for the characters? We see so little of thorn. For someone who is an MC, and a large part of the story, we see him for what I would estimate is like, 10% of the book. There is so much more I want from this book, and I truly don’t know if I want to continue with the series.

I’m awed, numbed, in shock, sweating and shaking. My brain is jumbled and I love it. This book is by far the best book i’ve ever read and I’m dizzy just thinking about it.

** spoiler alert ** so slow burn that when he kissed her i stared at the wall for 10 minutes in disbelief. I CANT BELIEVE THAT HAPPENED????? WHEN THEY FIGHT GOD TOGETHER AFTER HE INTERRUPTS THORNE TELLING HER HE LOVES HER IN THE MOST TRAGICALLY ONE SIDED RELATIONSHIP EVER EVEN THOUGH SHE ORCHESTRATED THEM GETTING MARRIED BEHIND THEIR FAMILIES BACKS IN A JAIL CELL BECAUSE HE WAS LOCKED UP FOR A CRIME HE COMMITED SAVING HER LIFE ????? literal couple goals wtf i just want and need them to be a power couple

the last lines of this book gave me chills. this story is far more than i ever thought it would be when i started the first book. i find myself even more anxious for the next book in the series.

kjsabkjfdbgjkasbdfgkj beautiful, incredible, gorgeous, stunning, show stopping. i was so deeply entranced by this book that i read 400 pages in one sitting.

thorn 😖

I’m really not sure what to make of this book. On one hand, I loved it. On the other hand, it confuses me. I love the world and the characters. The emotional and forever loyal and true mind of Ophelia, the lovable (in a cold, distant way) and discreet heart of Thorn… all of that is great. It’s all the talk of God (but definitely not my God) that confuses me. It just doesn’t make a lot of sense and is slightly offensive but also not… not sure what to make of it. But besides that it’s an ok book. The plot is interesting, if a bit slow. And I do want to see what happens next.
