The Moonlight Child is a decently written story. It was touching and sweet, but also managed to be disturbing at the same time. I kind of saw the plot twists coming a mile away, but overall it was a good story. Nothing revolutionary or mind blowing, but it was fast-paced and got me out of a reading slump.

Poorly written. Too much explanation and not enough dialogue. Situations and conversations that did transpire were often cheesy and unrealistic. 2/5 stars

           Ugh. So good. Three seemingly unconnected stories get twisted into one another for an amazing story. The events in the story are so huge and consequential, but McQuestion has a way of telling them in such a smooth and measured way - it kept me hooked and was heart-warming from beginning to end. I would offer a content warning of depictions of very mild child abuse.

The Moonlight Child by Karen McQuestion is a predictable story about a kidnapping and foster kids and bad parenting. It could have been heartwarming if not for the extreme detail and dialogue and explanations and all of the different POVs. This story was too much of the boring things, too long, and there was not enough story, or clever surprises make the story worth it. 

The pacing was very slow and I get the point of the relationship between Sharon and Nikki but it was not realistic or believable. Maybe the story would have been improved by cutting it. 

I kept reading hoping that they will be a twist. I kept trying to add little details or figure out a little twist that might be coming because I couldn't believe that the story was going in such a simple and basic direction. 

The Moonlight Child was just too long for the heartwarming story this was trying to be. Also, marketing this as a Domestic Thriller (as that cover suggests) isn't fair to the reader. A more simple-brighter cover would have been better. This was a difficult book to finish.

This was another fantastic read by Karen McQuestion! I at first I didn't understand what Wendy and Edwin had to do with this story but it didn't take long to quickly figure it out! I loved all the characters especially Mia! That little girl stole my heart through the entire book and I'm so glad she got her happy ending!
