Well that was unexpected. One whole star of enjoyment above its original rating. As for City of Ashes, I remembered very little of this one, but one thing I didn't remember at all was how much focus we get on Simon. Oh man, Simon is such a well-written character.

Either way, I always thought this book was kind of useless. City of Glass has an ending that doesn't necessarily require another book after it, but to be honest, this time around I wanted to read the continuation of the story so much that I think the reason for my enjoyment was mainly that it satisfied me massively. 

Also, it is true, you 
  must
 read The Infernal Devices before you read this one, because it makes Alec's and Magnus's storyline so much juicier. 

All in all, really liked this one even though the beginning is too slow in my opinion.

I just can’t anymore, I don’t care about any of these characters or what’s going on and I really feel this could have easily ended with book 3. I don’t see the point in continuing.

I will read the other trilogies but I’m done with TMI.

I’m sad to say I really didn’t like this book. There are a lot of questionable decisions made by certain characters that made this so unbearable for the majority of the time. I can say I’m intrigued by where it leaves of in the end and really am excited to read City of Lost Souls now that a lot of the plot points that I had conflicting feelings on are finally wrapped up. Fingers crossed the next book will cure some of my bad feelings. I kind of think Clockwork Angel has ruined me, that book was so far superior than this! Anyway, on to The Clockwork Prince yay!

My reread of The Mortal Instruments, in preparation for the new television adaptation Shadowhunters, continues with City of Fallen Angels. Serving as the fourth book in the expanded series, we see our favorite Shadowhunters and Downworlders return in a new mystery set a brief time after the events of City of Glass. It is also the weakest book of the series but does a decent job at setting up for this second arch therefore it doesn't dampen my love for this incredible series.

Now that The Mortal War is over, Sebastian (or Jonathan) and Valentine are dead, and the truth has all been revealed, our favorite kids think that they can finally sleep safely at night. Now, they can head back down the path of whatever normal is meant to be–for some that means hunting, for some that means love, some that means acceptance, for the Lightwoods it means mourning the loss of Max and others it means training.

And then there’s avoidance. 

But we’ll get to that later. I’m going to start with characters.
