There was nothing special about the book, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. However, I don't think it should be classified as a thriller. It leans more into mystery than thriller. For some reason, I had found Tish as a character laughable and never perceived her as a true 'villain' or even a threat. There were times I found myself laughing at her and not with her, which says a lot about her character. She never once seems to have the upper hand (maybe shortly in the beginning of her relationship with John), relying solely on George. I was mostly on Kate and Ashlyn's side, even though I would have enjoyed a lot more John slander. I mean, he was the married individual in the affair and clearly did not have a backbone throughout the whole book. I mean, seriously?

The twist at the end was decent but could have been assumed. However, I quite enjoyed the epilogue and Tish spiralling out of control. If I am being honest with myself, I was a little amused. Overall, a decent book. 3/5 stars.

Tish is no stranger to these difficulties and wishes her husband John would give his ex, Kate, reason to leave the company. But Tish suspects John and Kate of becoming close again and does not take kindly to being made a fool. When Tish’s world turns upside down, she must rely on tricks from her past to navigate her rocky future.

The Next Wife is 306 pages and took me one day to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this thriller. I’m giving it a 4 out of 5! This is a great summer read and will keep you hooked on every page!

My review: I liked this book. It read really easy and it could probably be read within a day. The twist was fairly predictable for the most part, but I didn’t figure every single thing out

Definitely not my favorite book I've ever read but it was different than my typical fantasy YA books. The book swaps back and forth between the main characters perspectives (there are 4 of them: John, Tish- the second wife, Kate - the first wife, and Ashlyn - the daughter) which I didn't expect but was easy to follow. This one on the Amazon Prime FIRST READS list and I blindly picked it. 

We learn pretty early on that John and Kate were married for over 20 years when he has a mid-life crisis and leaves Kate for his executive assistant, Tish, who is only 4 years older than his daughter. She's extremely insecure and jealous of the relationship John still has with his original family especially since they all work for the same company. John is the CEO and Kate is the President. 

In general, I wasn't a fan of reading through the perspective of these characters. They all acted in dumb ways that anyone who has watched any type of law & order type show knows better. Also, reading from the eyes of a character that is so extremely insecure and jealous and narcissistic and literally thinks she deserves everything in the world without actually working for it was pretty obnoxious. 

I got about 30 pages in and kept asking myself "why am i still reading this?" but I powered through and finished it. Hooray, it's over!
