After the destruction caused by the discovery of the glass gargoyle, the last thing achaeologist Taryn St. Giles needs is to look for another elven artifact capable of obliterating the world, but her eccentric new patroness hires her to find the obsidian chimera. Along the way she encounters an outbreak of zombie trolls, an infestation of flying snakes, and proof that the elves are still alive.
