Dr Philip Wild, a man of brilliance, wit, fortune and tremendous bulk, is used to suffering humiliations at the hands of his wife, the younger, slender, and rudely promiscuous Flora. But in a novel, a 'maddening masterpiece' documenting her infidelities, written by one of her lovers and given to the doctor, she appears as My Laura. Dishonoured, Wild still finds pleasure in life, by indulging in self-annihilation, beginning with the removal of his toes.

the thing about this "Book" is it isn't actually a book. right? it's a novelty act. 

what brought me in was the precut note cards you could pop right out of the book and shuffle, having a moment in Nabokov's mind and experience. however, what I came to realize was thats also what put me off about it. 

this should never have been released in a book form, because it's not readable as a book. it should have been printed on index cards and sold as a keepsake of some kind. that would have been more suiting to it and set no expectation about the content. 

$45 for a hardcover book that essentially breaks down as a a set of index cards seems like a bit of a cash grab and at purchase I debated it, and now having read/played with it, think i should have passed on it.
