The Other Miss Bridgerton
Reviews

One of the best books outside of the main Bridgerton series! I loved Poppy and Andrew’s journey and I felt it was the perfect slow burn.

I think I really love pirate novels.

It’s cute. It had pirates. It was pretty good.

Great !

Yesterday was awful, so last night I decided to pick this up to read something that would lift my spirits. This book succeeded! I don't know if it is because of the years between the original Bridgerton series and this, but this series has so far proved to be far more entertaining and with characters that feel more fleshed out than the paper-thin Bridgertons and their spouses (sorry, that's just the way I feel about them).

Reading a Julia Quinn novel is like being enveloped in a warm hug. The banter, the adventure, it’s always so wonderful!! This was a fantastic addition to the series and perfect to read in the summer! Loved it!

** spoiler alert ** I quite liked this book.. fast paced, piratey, kidnapping.. i thought pretty fast paced even though they were on a boat for most of it, and poppy was stuck in a single room for like 90% of that.. Then Andrew and Poppy get kidnapped in portugal.. and then are seperated.. poppy has no idea what has happened to Andrew and is told that if is rescued that she won't ever be able to see him again. Then she is sent back to england.... Then Andrew arrives and well we get our happily ever after 😁

I really enjoyed this one, particularly since this book returned to the fun banter that I felt was missing from book 2. This book is entirely the kidnapping trope, so if you hate that trope, it may not be the book for you. I will say, that in my opinion, the h being kidnapped by the H felt very lighthearted in that OTT, unrealistic way that allowed me to be okay with it. I am not a fan of the kidnapping trope in darker romances and it definitely wasn't that. I loved Andrew's personality in the first book and you are able to see that humor here in both his thoughts and also his banter with Poppy. I do think an entire novella with all the Rokesby brothers and their wives interacting over a holiday or something would be amazing with the quality banter Julia Quinn can write. I would for sure read that.

3.5*

Not the best work she's done in this series I'm sad to say, was quite slow and rather boring and then right when it picks up it ends! But the chemistry between Poppy and Andrew was fun to read

My favourite of the series so far.

It was so slow during most part of the book, but these two characters were so sweet together... All their banter made it very believable that they would fall in love♥
