Oh man, Pammie! She was quite a character!! I really really thought the ending was going to go in a completely different direction but I am pleasantly surprised at the twist! It was a lot happier than expected. 

The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I got super annoyed with Emily and her seemingly ignorance of Adam’s true nature. SO many red flags that would have sent a normal girl running for the hills. I also found myself constantly asking where Seb was! I wanted more of his presence- it was comforting. 

I am impressed with the story line, though, and I will most likely not turn down another book by this author.

Before I start this review, I just got to say one thing: that ending?! Holy cow, that ending. 10% of the book and Sandie Jones throws that wrench in there?! I couldn't breathe the entire time I was reading that part. Man alive...

Okay, so the first 40% or so of the book was kind of dull. There was a lot of build up and I thought things were happening kind of quickly. We met Pammie at about 20% and things started going bad by like 30% so I wasn't sure where the story was going to go with still a lot left. Honestly, I didn't feel that bad for Emily right away. Pammie just seemed like the typical horrible mother in law. But then..oh boy. 

That the problem with thrillers though. I can't say much so I don't spoil everything inside but at the same time, you want to sell the book so others will read it. I am bursting at the seams because I want to just go off and tell you all everything! But I will keep my mouth shut about everything in this book and just say go and get it come August. 

Honestly read this book and yes, I'm going to keep telling you all this. It's a bit slow in the beginning and the pacing is kind of weird. But stick it out and don't even bother trying to guess anything because I guarantee you will be wrong.

I absolutely loved this book, with every ounce of my being. When I run across a twisty thriller that surprises me I want to get on my roof and tell the whole world to read it. So GO READ THIS BOOK!!! Unless you don't like thrillers, or shifty mothers-in-law...then really don't read this book.

           This was the first time I've ever ventured into the audiobook world.. and I can say it was a pleasant experience. I did notice myself drifting in and out of attention, but that's a me problem and not the book. I went into this book mostly blind as to what it was about. It started out well enough, Emily comes off as a cheeky girl who has insecurities like the rest of us (well myself idk about everyone else) and has great friends, which I love when the protagonist has good people to lean on. Like I want to be Pip and Seb's friend. Anyways about 20% of the way in I found myself saying to my coworker.. we've already established Emily and Pammie are at odds with one another, there better be some murder mystery or something because I can't take 80% more of straight gf/mother-in-law rivalry. It's like the universe heard me because boy did SANDIE DELIVER! Throughout the book I found myself thinking like man Adam is an asshole, and he's entering the realm of emotional abuse. Why does Emily want to be with him anyways? I think Sandie did a great job of teasing Adam's true nature and how love or that type of control can blind people to someone's true being, and since we were learning everything from Emily's point of view how it clouded even our view of him. It almost seemed like Pammie's behavior pushed Emily into Adam's web even more and had her focusing on that instead of the nastiness waiting for her at home, and the reader too! I like to think I am one that can figure out mysteries relatively well (Too much Dateline as a kid) and even this had me fooled until the very end. It wasn't until Pammie's emotional apology at the christening that I was like.. hold up.. Adam is abusive already, what if Pammie knows that?! What if this was just a way to get Emily away from him but not have to reveal her son as the monster he is? I left this at 4 stars because while I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and the ending had me in tears, there were points where I think it dragged on, particularly the beginning. I also still am not entirely sure of the James, Kate, and Emily dynamic?

           I loved this book until the end. What was that?!! It made no sense to me. Why did Pammie even begin the cancer charade then? So many unanswered questions about her behavior. It felt like a twist was added just for the sake of a twist.

Bad ending. I hated so many parts of this book. No I have to say the author made me hate the wrong people and I applaud her for that because although I did see the twist coming towards the end of the book she made me hate the wrong characters in the best way possible. They were points in this book where I had to stop reading because I was just so angry at people. However the end after the twist was way too rushed out it was a very convenient ending I think they could’ve played more upon the twist but overall wasn’t bad.

Wait, what now?!? The ending didn’t make a lot of sense but I can definitely say I didn’t see it coming… but if felt very rushed and unsupported and left me with sooooo many unanswered questions, which I hate. You can’t even infer why things happened in most of these unanswered questions. Also it kind of dragged on. But I liked the book other than that.

An absolutely phenomenal book. This story roped me in from page one and kept me guessing and on edge until the very end. The characters were written flawlessly and it had me grappling with who to trust and who not to trust. One of my favorite books I’ve read, an absolute must!

With such blurbs as "The Other Woman will have you questioning her on every page, in the most addictive thriller you'll read this year" and "Fiendishly clever with a twist you will not see coming," I dove into this ARC straightaway. 

Yikes. What a gross, uncomfortable read. Takes gas-lighting to a whole other level. With a slate of characters you can't help but hate, including the main character, this will definitely get your book group talking but be prepared to feel kind of yucky reading it.

This will definitely be popular with readers who love the challenge of a "twist."
