Very Informative on the decisions each President made during their term.

Terrific research. Lots of good-hearted political gossip and great stories kept this book intriguing. For such an extensive time span, I thought it moved fairly quickly. Of course, there were details missing at times, but it was such a fresh perspective on an undoubtedly interesting topic. I thought the narrative was slightly stronger for the more historical sections (Hoover/Truman-Eisenhower), but perhaps that stemmed from the era's eloquent correspondence. :)

I could not have imagined the incredible timing of reading this book when I finally did. I placed this book on my to read list 8 years ago, long before anyone even imagined that a reality TV star would con millions of people into believing that he had the ability to run this country.
Reading this book through the week that saw the transition between the 45th president of the United States and the 46th provided startling revelations about how this club will irrevocably change with the addition of a man who has no intention of cashing in on his membership since a club implies at least a modicum of mutual respect.
I also never imagined that I would look at Nixon and see an example of someone doing the right thing, refraining from vigorously contesting the 1960 election. He refrained because he knew his actions might cause a constitutional crisis. To read that section days after the 45th President provoked an insurrection of the capital...wow.
Read this book. Read it now.
