This book is long and dense and a struggle to get through but I am so happy I did. I loved that the story followed families and tied events together enough to be able to follow along throughout all eleven centuries of history. The pictures painted were beautiful and there was normally at least one character each section that I felt drawn to enough to want to continue their story. The family tree was super helpful!

A very interesting read, especially for the first half of the book. Things petered out a bit near the end, but overall it was a great way to learn more about the history of Ireland.

Very interesting story around more recent history in Ireland. Great to read around a trip to Dublin. Loved it.
