Animorphs will always have a special place in my heart and I knew that whatever the 34th book of this series would take me, I would definitely love it.

Amongst all members of Animorphs, Cassie is my least favorite. I understand her role, she is the heart of the group and the one who prompts the ethical and moral parts of every decision made by the gang. She balances out the opinions of others that can be sometimes plainly out of logic or war tactics. Cassie is the person who does not approve of war but does what she can to help the earth. She understands the very idea that there can be good species out there even to their main adversaries, the yeerks. In all other books, especially those that highlight her, this characterization of her is always the main theme. I find myself irritated by her character when she got so much compassion that at times, it harms her side as well. Her strong belief of seeing all goodness of basically everyone stalls the group from moving forward. But in this book, I think Cassie was well written especially her connection to Alrea.

I didn't give it a 4 out of 5 because I feel like the ending was too hastily done. There was also not much resolution to Aldrea and the Arn.
