*update* I enjoyed this book again, like I did the first time. I had the same qualms but not as much as others. This book makes for a quick, easy, enjoyable read and thus survives round two of the purge from my personal collection.

I enjoyed this book much more than I remembered. I loved the interactions of the characters and the progression of the plot (to a point but I'll get to that in a moment.) Jack's journey towards conversion was also very real and believable. (pardon the pun) The O'Malley's reactions to Jennifer's cancer journey also ring true, unlike other books I've read (as well as tried to write.)

Once again, the only real problem that I have with the book is the ultimate resolution. I've noticed that it seems to be this way with all of Henderson's books. When the culprit was revealed I was confused. I didn't (and still don't) remember any mention of this particular character from earlier on in the book. I know that I might have missed an occasional reference because I was reading so quickly but it would make much more sense and have far more emotional impact had Henderson bothered to expand that particular character's role just a bit more.

That being said, I still really enjoyed the book and continue to recommend it and the series as a whole.
