I liked it but not in love ....

I plan to read book 2 to see if my like can be turned into love. 

The good .... Overall I enjoyed the characters involved in the story. The cat is hilarious! The situations that the heroine experienced were comical. 

The eh .... The ridiculousness of the heroine and her virginity. Virginity doesn't equate to lack of knowledge. Sheltered or not ... In this day and age with the Internet...there is no excuse to get basic questions answered or view porn. 

The hero, oh my God, could he be any slower in making a move?! 

Overall, I could not take the heroine seriously and the move two steps and go back 3 was annoying. Communication is a commonly used conflict but it is not my fave.

Poor, clueless Rosie had me laughing with her antics and straight up bad luck with her dating. Kicking a guy in the junk, puking on another guy's junk, being weirded out by another guy's dog washing its junk, etc.

You could feel the chemistry between Rosie and Henry, but she was just clueless when it came to it, even with all the signals he was giving off. Even when he was offering and lending his assistance in teaching her about various aspects of sex.

I've been itching to read The Virgin Romance Novelist for AGES. Basically since I first read one of Meghan Quinn's books back in 2016. As is often the case, I just never made time to do it. It was one of the first books I downloaded from Kindle Unlimited once I finally subscribed to it though. It was easily one of the funniest books I've ever read, but I do have a thing for gross, awkward and totally embarrassing "OH MY GOD DID THAT JUST HAPPEN" humor in books. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I literally laughed out loud. 

I absolutely adored Rosie. She was charming and awkward and hilarious. She won me over from the very start. There were also some great secondary characters. The hero, on the other hand, I had a few issues with, which made me sad because I flipping love friends to lovers books. I don’t always love manwhores, but if there’s character growth or maturing, they generally can win me over. This guy lost me in the last few chapters by doing something I find inexcusable. He just *barely* got me back before the end. It wasn’t enough to ruin the book for me, but ... it left a bad taste in my mouth. The rest of the book? Completely wonderful.

I am anxious to read the next book in the series to see if I can fall for the hero the same way I did Rosie. I'll get to that sooner or later!
