Despite all the battles and gore REALLY not being my thing (these being present aplenty in this book), I just love the world building Tim Hodkinson has done. I also love Affreca’s bad-ass character and enjoy seeing Einar grow and choose to be a bard. The way Norse mythology is woven into the plot was also incredibly interesting, and the ending made me super curious to see what happens next! Definitely a recommendation if you like epic viking battles, a cast of well-developed characters, and incredible world building!
