This was my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it.  It was a little slow getting into it but about 1/4 of the way it got to where I couldn’t put it down.  I love that the character Bosch was also brought into the book.

Defense attorney Mickey Holler has been given an unusual request by the DA, cross the isle and become an independent prosecutor for the DA.  Mickey thinks it’s a joke until he hears the details of this 24 year old case that is being overturned and a child killer is being released.  Mickey reverses his role, grabs a top notch team including his ex wife and investigator Bosch and they are determined to keep this killer behind bars.

The book is much better than the Brass Verdict. As is already known, Haller and Bosch are half-brothers. A sadistic killer was placed in prison. Bosch digs for the murdered child. Haller fights for the rights of the family and the child. Bosch knows the killer must kill once again. Very good story.
