The Rose

Tiffany Reisz2019
Bestselling author Tiffany Reisz returns with an imaginative tale of lust and magic, and the dangers unleashed when the two are combined… On the day of Lia’s university graduation party, her parents—wealthy art collectors with friends in high places—gift her a beautiful wine cup, a rare artifact decorated with roses. It’s a stunning gift, and one that August Bowman, a friend of her parents and a guest at Lia’s party, also has his eye on. The cup, August tells her, is known as the Rose Kylix, and it’s no ordinary cup. It was used in the temple ceremonies of Eros, Greek god of erotic love, and has the power to bring the most intimate sexual fantasies to life. But Lia is skeptical of August’s claims of the cup’s mythology and magic—after all, he’s a collector himself, and she suspects he just wants to get his hands on this impressive piece of art. So he dares her to try it for herself, and when Lia drinks from the Rose Kylix she is suddenly immersed in an erotic myth so vivid it seems real—as though she’s living out the most sensual fantasy with August by her side… Realizing the true power of this ancient and dangerous relic, Lia is even more wary of giving it up, though August insists it is only safe with him. He’s willing to pay the full value of the cup, but Lia has another type of trade in mind. One that finds them more tangled up in each other—and in fantasy—than either was prepared for.

Some of the spiciest spice I’ve read so far. I loved Lia, I loved August, and I loved the mythology woven into their love story.

"August smiled, and it was a smile to steal a young girl's heart, and as Lia was a young girl, her heart was stolen by it. And that wasn't even the mad part. The mad part was that Lia didn't want it back. He could keep the heart he'd just stolen. He could keep it forever, in a box or on a shelf, though she hoped he'd keep it in his chest, next to his." So I picked up The Rose because it was on the "staff pick" shelf at my local bookstore and I LOVE greek mythology. Are you also looking for your next greek mythology obsession? Then keep walking because THAT is NOT why you pick up The Rose. The Rose is what you pick up when you want to pretend to know what your favorite God's "flavor" ice cream is. And when I say ice cream, what I really mean is how freaky do they get in the clouds, on the ground, in the sea or wherever they please. That's right my friends, The Rose takes the record for the most amount of smut written in a book at a wapping 386 pages, which is in fact the entire book. So Eros, Achilles, Zeus, whatever you like. It's a greek sex buffet. Read if you like: -ladies and men of the night -lots and lots of experimenting and fantasies -greek gods -a quick and easy read -MC's that are easily enjoyable. Why I dropped a star- the way it was written it felt like it was set in the 1800s but it was 2019... that was not done well... but... the moments of conversation are minimal so you'll get over it. Rating: story-⭐️⭐️⭐️ characters-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ steam- I had to wear a fire suit to read this. 🔥 Song: Greek Tragedy by the Wombats
