The Selection Series 1-5: the Selection, the Elite, the One, the HeirAnd the Crown
Reviews

This series was the best and the first book, first series that I finished as a beginner in English novels. I got hooked up about the first book and I read it all. I love royal love stories and it also talks about the caste system and the secrets that have been unfold.

This was one of my earliest series, my introduction into the whole fantasy/dystopian genre. I read it when I was in grade 6 and REALLY enjoying it. As an adult, I do realise it's a little cliche but I can't deny it's my comfort novel, whenever I am in a reading slump or I just want to read something light hearted and familiar I read it.
There's love triangle, there's the whole selection atmosphere, there's the fiercy main lead America, there's the determined to win his love back Gaurd Aspen, and there's the fan favourite, too good to be true Prince Maxon. It's a stereotypical book but no one can deny the impact of this series. If you do get into the series, do read all the side novellas too.

4.4/5 stars The Selection- 5/5 stars The Elite- 4/5 stars The One- 5/5 stars The Heir- 4/5 stars The Crown- 4/5 stars First of all, EVERY cover was ATROCIOUS. I didn't read this series for so long because even though I shouldn't I do judge books by their cover. Second, I LOVED these books separate or like with their own little groups but I NEEDED another book in between 3 and 4 then one after book 5 because I wanted more of the history like the in-between of the books not one then pull a mf 15 years later. I want world-building. I needed the drama and trauma of their growth. I wanted more like this book has their world politics or whatever that I got interested in then oops... The love story is over happy mf ever after we gotta deal with the rest in secret. WHAT HAPPENS? DO PEOPLE RETALIATE? DO THEY ACCEPT? I NEED ANSWERS???? If I had these answers it would be 5 stars 100% I had seriously debated giving it 3 stars because of this but what I did read I really enjoyed. The first 3 books were from the POV of a selected. The last 2 were from the POV of the selector. It was cool to see.

I think this book easy to enjoy, simple, a tad predictable but fun all the same. We readers watch as the characters develop throughout the story right up until the end, a slight redeeming quality for the last two books (of which i am not personally a fan).

This series was very predictable, but it was still very good, the first book (The Selection) was a very easy quick read for me, I finished it in one night and really liked it, then I read the second one (The Elite) and it was also good but very predictable, the I got to the third one (The One) and dropped it because it was way to repetitive. Then I just never read the last two.

“It’s the most wonderful and terrible thing that can ever happen to you. You know that you’ve found something amazing, and you want to hold on to it forever; and every second after you have it, you fear the moment you might lose it.”
