good book with great points, though she needs to hire a good editor to fix her awful writing and the inconsistent structure of her chapters and arguments.

this was... okay. obviously adams is mostly correct but her analysis is so repetitive and surface-level. a lot of it reads almost like it was intended to serve as some sort of exhaustive literary/historical review; i wish she engaged more with psychoanalysis, went deeper into the psychosexuality of animal consumption and its imbrication with patriarchy, etc
