This was by far my favorite of the three. I laughed and cried and couldn’t put it down or stop thinking about it. If you were ever debating whether to keep reading, keep going just for this one. 

Some of the things I could predict, but it didn’t detract from the story. Finally seeing more of the pieces come together made it worth it.

I think one of my favorite things so far about this world of magic is how it was written. I love her fantastic way of writing it from the perspective of the characters who have not sometimes realized what magic is happening, such as with compulsion, and so the reader is not privy to it either. I absolutely loved that aspect and I think a reread would prove incredibly insightful!

This was such a beautiful end to a really wonder series. I laughed, I cried, and maybe let out a few choice swear words. I couldn’t stop thinking about this book, even after I finished the last sentence. I’m so glad I discovered this series!

Rating: 4 stars when Goodreads will allow. I confess, I had a difficult time keeping the timelines and narrators straight in this book as well as remembering which events were happening in which timeline. But I was so anxious to find out who was doing what and why and how it would all end I could not stop devouring each page. My heart is still racing from the final 100 pages read and the ending revealed. Loved the characters in these three stories and am sorry to let them go.

Presenting my very first 5-star read of 2021!! THE SHADOWGLASS by Rin Chupeco. I initially gave this book a 4-star rating few days ago after I finished it. But then I realized that I'm still not over it. I still tear up whenever I remember Tea, her journey, and how beautiful and bittersweet the story has ended. I couldn't think of a different ending! To be honest, I didn't like Tea at first but reading her story and getting to know her more changed what I felt about her. Her character development was definitely one of the best. Plus, the secondary characters are amazing! The story is told in two timelines (past and present) which I had a hard time getting into, especially in the first book, but I eventually got used to it and ended up loving it. I actually thought it was brilliant especially in this book. Since this is the third and last book, I can't really say so much about it. But I can give you a short introduction to the trilogy. The story follows our main character Tea who accidentally ressurects her brother from the dead. She soon learns that she is a bone witch and this is where her magical (and dark) journey begins. I think that's all you need to know. Just do me a favor and read this trilogy. You can thank me later.

My feelings are a bit conflicted about this one. It wasn’t as intriguing as book one, but it also wasn’t as hectic as book two. It did bring back the mystery of what Tea was up to in the bards sections, with him being separated from her and having no idea what she was doing.

The suspense and mystery became incredibly strong in the last third of the book, which made it so much more interesting. That’s what made this book good for me tbh. It was absolutely heart wrenching at the end. We love a good cry!!

It did take me foreveeeer to read this because it just seems to kind of drag on in the middle. I found myself not really going to pick it up.
