I'm not *actually* finished with this, but I don't think I'll be picking it up again until TDA comes out and I don't want it sitting on my currently reading shelf. So yeah.
Somewhat reminiscent of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them from the Harry Potter franchise. Now I know there has been a lot of hate towards Cassie for "copying Harry Potter" and all that, but jeez. I'm neural okay? There are quite a lot of similarities I guess, by I totally enjoy reading Cassandra Clare.
I have always wondered about the Codex. Awesome job.

Ohhhh how I loved t and enjoyed this. I learned so much about the shadow world and everything in it, and I am glad I have this book here with me if I ever come across something in Cassie’s books that I need to understand better. I enjoyed the beautiful art on these pages, and the notes from Clary, Jace and Simon made for an amusing read. I didn’t find EVERYTHING that interesting, but with a book like this, I guess that is impossible. I enjoyed the part about the Downworlders the most! I loved it, and I really want to accend now thank you.
4 stars Quite enjoyable and fun to read. Not really anything new but I liked it.
Una bella aggiunta al mondo di Shadowhunters. è stato molto interessante leggere le varie informazioni spiegate tutte insieme, e non sparse come nei libri, per avere una idea più chiara del mondo. I commenti di Simon, Jace e Clary sono molto divertenti, e i disegni molto belli
i'm not giving this 5 stars because i'm trying to control myself this year on that ground but man did i enjoy this!!!!! it's worrying how much i thrive just reading anything shadowhuntish related but i found it really interesting and entertaining!! also the artwork was stunning<3333 and the commentary on it by jace clary and simon was hilarious and probably my favorite thing i love those btches
Overall feeling: Boring. I did read some interesting things about the Shadowhunters world, but it just couldn't grip me for more then 10 pages at a time. It just seems like unnecessary knowledge to me even though I'm a pretty big fan of the main series.
3.5 stars Some sections were reeeeeally interesting, while others, I have to admit, I skimmed a bit because, yeah... I also expected more notes from Jace, Clary and Simon. Though the ones we get in this, plus the extra pages they seem to leave in the Codex, are great and some even made me laugh out loud.
Il libro che ogni fan della saga dovrebbe avere nella propria libreria! :) Non dice niente che già non sappiamo, insomma dopo 9 libri sugli Shadowhunter dovremmo essere praticamente dei tuttologi in materia, però alcune parti sono davvero molto interessanti ed i disegni sono stupendi *_*. Un buon motivo per averlo? Le note di Clary, Jace e Simon e si anche la personalissima introduzione di Magnus (fa morire dal ridere!). 16€ ben spesi ;D
