I remember a few years ago, one of my online book friends raved about a book called The Silent Wife. I couldn’t remember the name of the author, so when I did a title search on the library’s site, I came up with two potential options. This was the first…the second will follow shortly. 
	Based on this book’s synopsis, I was anticipating some sort of murder. That’s not at all what was going on here. Massimo ends up being an absolute jerk-face, but he’s not a killer. The first half of the book sets the story up to seem like Maggie is in a helpless situation, but in reality, it was Lara. This story includes all things to make a decent tale: rich family, two sons in constant competition with each other, and a mother who can find no faults in her oldest, despite the facts being up her nose. The bad deeds done my Massimo aren’t as devastating as the synopsis leads the reader to believe, and when the truth comes out, it’s nowhere near as damaging. In all, it’s a solid story but it lacks “fireworks” to make it a great story.
