HOLY. SHIT. This is how you start wrapping up a series. I think this was my 2nd favorite book out of the 7 I've read (after The Problem Child of course because the love of my life Jacob Grimm was introduced.) I'm in awe of this. I read all of this while I was in class over the past day and a half and it took so much not to scream and cry and throw this book across the classroom. I feel it's important to note that my favorite thing in a fantasy series is when all of the characters are preparing for war and the whole war itself. WHICH IS WHAT THIS WHOLE BOOK WAS AND I AM BLESSED. 

(view spoiler)[Veronica and Henry Grimm were finally woken up after 2 yers and I gotta say... I was bummed. Henry Grimm was a pathetic, paranoid, weak, whiny, scaredy cat. I wanted to punch him in the face even though he did come around eventually. Veronica Grimm is beautiful though my wife. Also lets talk about the reveal of the Master. I had my suspicions early on in the series that it could be the mirror but I was like ha that's extremely unrealistic but hoooo boy. It makes sense even though it broke my lil heart. ANOTHER THING. Briar Rose dying made me cry like a baby and Jacob grieving was so hard to read about it was written so well. Puck is the best character in this series and just WOW i love this series. Please pick this series up. It's one of the most creative and intriguing series I've read in a longggg time, if not ever. If you like fantasy, detective mysteries, and fairytale middle grades please please please consider reading it.

4.5 stars. Holy. Shit. Now THIS is how you end a series. I laughed, I cried, I mourned. It only took me about a month to read this series but I feel like these characters are family now? It's been a few hours since I finished this and I've thought of a billion and one other things since finishing but my mind keeps going back to this book. There was death and love and so so SO MUCH character development it overwhelmed me. Sabrina grew so much as a character I was sitting in the corner of my english classroom holding back tears. I'm going to miss this series a lot. It was so creative and while I was annoyed with how many books there were I'm glad I got to spend 9 books with these kids. I expect I'll be rereading this series sometime in the future and will rave about it even more next time. PLEASE PICK THIS SERIES UP THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT.

I didn't really like it. I think part of it was the writing style since I didn't like Harry Potter either. I also didn't really like the characters. Some of the characters seemed kinda bratty and sexist. Who knows, maybe I'll see some character development later on in the series.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I probably would have simply because I was in the middle of a multi-season "Once Upon A Time" binge. Of course, the only similarity that this book and the series have in common is that they involve/are based on fairy-tale characters. Still, I love the idea that fairy tale characters are actually "real" people. Sometimes the details felt a bit muddled but that was probably because I was reading the book too quickly. I loved the unique twist and at the end of the book could see plenty of potential for even more books.
