Wow! Just Wow! I’m going to start my saying this book is the 3rd in a series. While you don’t need to read the first 2 to read this one, it is so much better if you do!

Sam Porter has been chasing the 4MK Killer for over a decade. He is now benched and removed from the case. As he continues the investigation on his own, it leads into a cat and mouse game with the killer.

While he’s busy with his game, his team and the FBI have their hands full with missing teenagers that all seem to point back to 4MK.

This book will have you on edge and flipped upside down and sideways, not know what to believe. So many twist and turns all the way to the end.

Trigger warnings: graphic violence, strong language

So good!!! You almost need to take notes if you want to try to figure this out on your own. There are plenty of other reviews that explain what is happening way better than I ever could. But just read this trilogy!! I wish I could read it over again for the first time.

4.5/5 Well, shit. As a series ending - this was good. I've read a number of reviews where people felt like the ending was abrupt, but I didn't feel that way at all. In this installment of Detective Porter vs. 4MK (or really...vs everyone) our sanity is called into question. Is everything the way it seems? Is Detective Porter really a good guy? What ties all these murders together? You get answers, but some keep you hanging right until the very end. There was one *twist* that I guessed. There was such a focus on a particular part of what was happening in book 3 that it just made sense to me that it was a certain person, but the bigger picture still remained a mystery. One of the things I HATE in books/movies is when people are made to look 'crazy'. And/or when people have to fight to be believed, and that was a huge theme in this book. If I wasn't already invested in the series and characters due to the first 2 books being SO GOOD and also 100% confident that J.D. Barker would make everything make sense at the end of the book, I probably would have stopped reading - that is how much I dislike that whole trope. Alas, everything was set right and answered in the end and I'm so happy I had faith that it would, because this series was AMAZING.
