I’ve never read anything from Monica before, but premise of this book sounded promising, so I took a chance.
Unfortunately, it fell flat for me.
I found Ellie had no backbone, and was altogether too easily pushed over by Jackson. I hated how even though she knew, and said many times over and over again that she needed to move on from Jackson, she still folded every time he was near.
I also found Jackson to be really unlikable. He states he’s an a hole, but never really tried to remedy that, even when he tries to go after Ellie.
The mix of sports and rockstar should’ve been right up my alley, but fell flat for me, sorry.
