Oh boy I wanted to like this so much but I couldn't. First the thing I did like-the banter between h and H. The written encounters between them showed just how compatiable they were. It was fun to read.
The stuff I didn't like- First it was a like a bad rip-off of Pride and Prejudice. It's one thing to be inspired by and have a line or to in homage to the work, but the entire things had riffs from it that came off as if they didn't know what to write. The other thing was the random time jumps, that only once was stated how much time had passed. 

The two things I had mixed feelings about. One was the h/H interactions. When together they sparked, but there meetings were so disjointed that it was hard to get a concrete narrative. Reader was told they were in love and not shown. Second was the characterization of Edward. I think he was inteded to be shown to be on the spectrum. That's fine, we need more heroes like that. But the ending came across that the love of Georgiana is what helped him. If more interactions between the two were included it migh read as more acceptance than curing. 

Also, never understood why he was a "rake".

Also (view spoiler)[The early wedding w just the two of them didn't come off as romatic, I can't wait to marry you, but instead as the author wanting to not have pre-marital sex in the book. The wedding did nothing for the plot. The sex and it's after affects did interact with the plot. Why have the confusing wedding at all?? (hide spoiler)]

I didn't jive with the writing well but the story was okay.

The marriage game is afoot in this clever blend of My Fair Lady meets Pride and Prejudice with a twist! Edward Stanhope, the icy Duke of Thornfield, likes his life in a certain order. Give him a strong drink, a good book, and his dog for company, and he’s content. But when he goes to his library and finds a woman sitting in his chair, petting his dog, what starts as a request for her to leave quickly turns to a fiery battle of wits, leading to a steamy kiss that could ruin them both if they were caught. So of course, damn it all, that’s when Edward’s aunt walks in, and thereafter announces Miss Georgiana Bly is the future Duchess of Thornfield. But now her days are spent locked away with a growly duke, learning how to be the perfect duchess, and her nights spent fighting the undeniable attraction to a man who was never meant for her. The Spinster and the Rake was a great book filled with many misunderstandings and the main male character’s ego being brought down a couple notches by the female main character. Edward and Georgiana had to marry because they were found in a compromising position and even though it was a mistake, Edward thinks Georgiana did it on purpose enable to become a duchess just like all the other woman who want to marry him.

Chaos ensues and Georgiana shows him how much she did NOT want to marry him and be a duchess. I loved the angst and banter between the two characters and the way Georgiana showed Edward that not every person he meets is after his title and money.

Even though they don’t actually have a name for it during this time period, you could see that Edward was on the autism spectrum by the way he reacted to certain situations. I love that when he finally explained to Georgiana about how he feels when he is in those certain situations, she whole heartily accepted him and promised to work with him and not get mad when he gets into certain moods.
