The Story Girl
Reviews

Strange little book.

so quintessentially montgomery; i missed reading these books. “And before us was the dream of spring. It is always safe to dream of spring. For it is sure to come; and if it be not just as we have pictured it, it will be infinitely sweeter.”

“There was something in the fine, elusive air, that recalled beautiful, forgotten things and suggested delicate future hopes. The woods had wrapped fine-woven gossamers about them and the westering hill was crimson and gold.” - The Story Girl by L.M Montgomery ✨ ___ Rating: 4.5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ ___ As a devoted L.M Montgomery fan, I knew I’d enjoy this book before I even opened it, especially because Road to Avonlea, my favourite tv series, is largely based on the Story Girl duology. And I’m happy to say I ADORED this book. It’s chock full of childhood delight, innocence, and wonder, as it follows the lives of the King family children and their friends as they have small adventures, uncover family secrets, and create a beautiful little world together. I definitely had a similar feeling reading this book as I do watching RTA, but it also has a uniqueness to it that differentiates it from Sullivan’s tv series. Overall, I had the coziest time with The Story Girl, and I’m excited to read the sequel! 💛✨🍁
