The Titan's Curse: The Graphic Novel (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 3)
Reviews

Major rizzler alert (Lord Apollon).

This book was good, but it took a really long time to get interesting. BUT it made me cry. Like whenever Zoë dies, and Bianca. Screams Bianca's name, because she was my favorite character. I also like how they introduce Rachel Elizabeth Dare. <3

So good! Kept me on my toes and moved the plot along at a great pace

i wish i could protect all of them - reread: as always this book is a 5 star

This is my fav book in the series so far, it was so cool to see some appearances from my fav greek gods and it seems like the stakes are starting to get higher.

idek what to say like this was crazy… zoe.. thalia… artemis… bianca… NICO DI ANGELO!!!!!!!! yeah wow. the part where percy held up the sky GAVE ME CHILLS BRO LIKE HE IS CRAZY

A very consistent series My reviews for the Percy Jackson books continue to sound very similar. I feel they have the potential to be great but are just missing any sort of relationship building or character building. Percy himself doesn't really have any Percy and neither do half of the other characters. Grover is the only character who appears to show some humour and opinion on things. The rest are all just stubborn and defiant. I do however thoroughly enjoy the world and the lore involved with these books. I love the many different monsters and googling them to see what they'd look like, along with the wide knowledge of the Greek mythological history that Rick Riordan has. Definitely going to finish the series as this book appears to be building up to something much bigger.

I will forever associate The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan with Fort Bragg. My husband read aloud to us as I drove. As it turns out, the climax of the book takes place on Mt. Tamalpais. We drove by it twice on our day trip. That physical connection makes the memory of reading the book all the more vivid. Artemis and Annabeth have gone missing. Percy and Thalia and the Hunters go on a cross country quest to rescue both. The quest takes them to the edge of the world (currently located in and about the San Francisco Bay Area). I liked the local connection, seeing how San Francisco and points north map to Greek mythological geography. It gave us talking points as we were driving by spots mentioned in the novel. Thrown into the mix are the di Angelos: Bianca and Nico, who don't quite fit in at Camp Halfblood. Ian especially likes Nico for his geeky gamer qualities. While I can appreciate the need to add new characters and mix up the dynamic that had been settled upon in the first two books, I missed Annabeth and Tyson.

“But there is power in killing innocence. ”
I swear this books never disappoint and omg I just adore Percy, he is the funniest and coolest mc ever, I just adore how well written he is, he acts and thinks his age and that is amazing. Also Nico !!! I was waiting for him, and also all the other characters were amazing.

The stakes in this series just keep getting bigger and bigger and Book 3 is no different, this is such an awesome series and I can see why it’s been highly recommended to me by a lot of people and I’m glad that I finally decided to give this a go, it’s been a year of trying new books and series this year and I’m not disappointed at all, its introducing me to new Genres of books to enjoy and fall in love with.
Set a Few Months after the events of The Sea of Monsters, during a terrible battle against a Manticore, Annabeth is lost and presumably dead. Afterwards Percy has a dream, and it is revealed that she could still be saved, but at a terrible cost, since someone has to endure the burden of Atlas. A fatal prophecy of the Oracle doesn’t help one bit with their hopes of success. In a desperate quest against time, a group of brave demigods set their way to rescue their missing friend.
It’s hard to rate these books as they are just awesome and amazing to get immersed in and enjoy seeing these characters go on their journeys and learn more about themselves and the past! It’s clear to see the journey we are going on with these characters, Percy and his friends know the quests are becoming more serious, venturing closer to a potential and future war between the Titans and the Olympians. With the prophecy of one of the children from the three gods holding the world in their hands becoming closer and closer, the people await more clues as their futures will become reality. It becomes more difficult for them to follow along, and as they get older, their lives become heavier.
Enough Reviewing Its time for another Adventure!

5 of 5 stars ----- [3rd time - March 4, 2020] The first appearance of one of my most favorite demigod characters, Nico di Angelo. I kept forgetting how he was this young when he was first introduced to us. This precious little kid that made our heart ached suffered so much at such young age. Yes, maybe Percy and Annabeth and other demigods faced different kinds of difficulty and near-death experiences too, but no one seemed as fragile as Nico. He needed to be protected at all cost. Annabeth, on the other hand, appeared only a few times in this book, which means less Percabeth scenes. But nevertheless, the lacked of her presence was backed up by the quest team, which seemed so doomed even from the start yet able to use their differences to their advantage and appreciate each other despite their flaws. They're definitely a great team! But most of all, my love for Percy Jackson grew even more. I have no words to express how much I love him. I would never ever get tired of him.

This one has always been my favorite (closely followed by The Last Olympian naturally). There's so much going on though, and at breakneck speed, so if my notes seem sparse it's because I was fully immersed. I hid my notes behind a spoiler tag because there's some nonsense in these pages (view spoiler)[ *Not Percy being embarrassed by Sally. Sir you have the best mom, you give her a hug and thank her proper now *Westover Hall = Military Hogwarts *If Grunt is Grover's rank, I'd love to know what he was going to be promoted to *MY BABIES ARE SO SMALL NICO IS ONLY TEN 😭😭😭 *RonXHermione walked so Percabeth could run *AKA this three lines of dialogue on page 12 does more than 300 pages of teenagers being dramatic did in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire *I forget how Annabeth and Percy are actually not together for most of this book because Annabeth does things like YEET HERSELF IN FRONT OF PERCY TO SAVE HIM *Artemis is pretty boss really *Aside from the rampant misandry I mean *Grover really thought showing Bianca his feet right off the bat was a good idea 🙃 *Also this pre-nonsense Nico is going to destroy me *Nico's asking the real questions here, I'd like to hear answers to all of them Sir *The di Angelos really do adapt pretty quickly tho all things considered. Bianca's known the gods exist for like five minutes and she's already vowed to live her life in service to one of them *Who doesn't enjoy making a jackalope now and again? *Honestly Apollo is a fantastic character, and it's easy to see why Riordan decided to give him his own series *Also he talks like a grandmother. I think "sweetheart" is supposed to be kind of predatory, but when he switches to "dear," he ages up like 60 years *Nico and Annabeth really are the only two characters in the entire series to use their whole brain, huh? *WHAT THE HECK IS IN THIS ORIENTATION VIDEO 😂 *Thalia is pining for life inside her tree (no pun intended unfortunately) *But honestly how devastating would it be to be in a tree coma for seven years only to find out that your best friend poisoned you and betrayed the home you love? *The Percy/Thalia fight is seriously the coolest thing ever *Pinecone Face is a little close to home my guy 😂 *No thanks no thanks the Oracle should definitely stay in her attic next time *Connor and Travis have mad Fred and George vibes *Idk Zoë, maybe Bianca could prove herself on a quest where we haven't just confirmed that some of you are going to die *Just Paul my left butt, you get that man Mrs. Jackson, you deserve the world *Oh, Nico 😭😭😭 *Sorry Mr. D, you're too late - you are officially the Wine Dude *The kittens I could fight, easy. The army of skeleton soldiers? I can't nope out fast enough *Barry Manilow is confusing... *Omgosh I didn't know podcasts existed in 2007 😂 *So Zoë basically invented Riptide, that's pretty dang interesting *I'm saltier this time around about Bianca's decision to join the Hunters. She's abandoned Nico, at a time when the world as they knew it was literally reforming around them. Kids only ten and he's having so much thrown at him - and now he's left to process it alone. I get that she's only twelve herself, and as she says has been yearning for freedom of her own. But now that they have a spot at camp, she probably could have had the freedom she wanted without completely separating herself from her brother. Hindsight is 20/20, and I have the wisdom of my advanced age, so I should cut her some slack...but it's a poor decision imo. *OKAY BUT THE MOMENT SHE KILLS THE SKELETON IS SO SICK, and it's our first real clue to their parentage (Riordan did a better job burying the lede with this one) *I really feel like if Zoë had survived, she and Percy would be really great friends. *Okay, but Grover ate a bit of that crown - isn't it plausible that Talos could've awoken because he "took" something too?? *Real talk though, this bit is d e v a s t a t i n g, I'm so used to people not dying *IT'S A DAM CLASSIC IS WHAT IT IS *The moment with Bessie is so random here - why does he try to get Percy into the water? Why doesn't Percy just tell his friends about him? He has no idea of Bessie's significance after all. *I used to hate Rachel because I thought we were going to have some serious love triangle nonsense (it stays pretty mild all things considered), but now I absolutely love her *"Act homeless" oh right, of course *Meaning act drunk apparently 🙃 *Raised like a Bessie for slaughter *Thalia, stop looking at Bessie like that, you're scaring me *Dude, Zoë 100% knew how this was all going to end and she didn't say a darn thing *Annabeth's dad is so good 😭 I can't handle it *RIP that car tho *"So you're another coward" WHAT A GUY WOW *Dude Luke is pulling such a good whump right here. Gets me. Don't get me wrong, he's obviously nuts/evil, but it's just so goooood *The moment he mentioned razing Camp Half-Blood was probably his undoing though. Thalia spent the last seven years protecting it with her tree powers, there's no way she'd be down to destroy that. *OKAY BUT PERCY HOLDING THE SKY IS THE BEST/WORST PART YET *Omgosh omgosh *Annabeth, my dear, you gotta let that man go *Wow Luke looks really dead right now 😬 *Omgosh Zoë *ANNABETH'S DAD FOR THE WIN *Ladies, get yourself an excellent mad scientist *Welp *cries in earnest* *"The most dangerous flaws are those which are good in moderation" oof *Shoot your shot, Percy, I think she suspects anyway 😭 *Yaaaaas Mrs. Jackson you deserve happinessssssss *Also Percy acts like we didn't all ALREADY KNOW THAT HIS MOM IS COOL *THERE'S SO MUCH GOING ON - between EVERYTHING WITH NICO, Luke's whole not-being-dead thing, and the beginnings of Percabeth, we get left on a cliff hanger about PAN AND I'M JUST GOTTA GET THAT NEXT BOOK (hide spoiler)]

THERE'S ALWAYS A CLIFFHANGER. WHY.

I feel like people forget how great this book is. The story is so incredible!

** spoiler alert ** The actual rate is 4.5⭐ Action-packed since page 1! I love this 3rd installment of the series. Too bad Annabeth is not part of the adventure which I prefer that she was, you know, the original crew since they have already rescued Grover in the previous book! But I realized it's a vital part of the story where we now know about Percy's fatal flaw, it figures! Many lives have been lost, and I don't want dying characters, even minor characters in a book, I get depressed. Anyway, I can't wait to finish the series. It's getting sooooo gooooood 🥰❤

my favourite book in this series, I've got to say. I found this one really enthralling.

i love you always zoë nightshade

used to say this was my favorite from the series and I still love zoe's storyline, truly embodying hero's virtues. she and percy are probably very similar if I think about it. (spoilers ahead but can you really still spoil pjo?) thalia's decision lacks emotional impact since all of the reasoning hinged on her last conversation with luke. bianca's storyline also lacks impact. her final act in life seems to be in vain and her process of 'maturing' of why she chose her fate to be this way before and while she joined the huntresses was largely implicit--part of a larger issue with the entire series where character traits are implicit bc of the groups they are from.

i want to put 4.5/5 bc i felt this book was way slower than the first two... i missed annabeth the entire time. THE DI ANGELO SIBLINGS THO <33333 i wanted more information of them but it was fun read as the others

Percy carried the weight of the sky to save Annabeth. This book made me cry a bit, by the end. I wasn't really expecting to be honest rr: it's so sad wtf. also giggling and kicking my feet with percabeth wtf is wrong with me

holy shit. i am blown away by this series. WHY oh why did i wait this long to read it

finished this in a day and i’m not ok
Highlights

I didn't feel like arguing, though it made me mad. How could she still have any feelings for that creep? How could she possibly make excuses for him? He deserved that fall. He deserved.. okay, I'll say it. He deserved to die. Unlike Bianca. Unlike Zoë. Luke couldn't be alive. It wouldn't be fair.
PERCY IS JUST SO REAL IDK

A voice inside me was screaming Ask about Annabeth! That's what I cared about most.

I took Annabeth’s baseball cap out of my backpack and set it on my nightstand. I’d give it to her when I found her. And I would find her.
😭

She touched the new streak of grey in my hair that matched hers exactly – our painful souvenir from holding Atlas’s burden.

“Wow,” Thalia muttered. “Apollo is hot.”
“He’s the sun god,” I said.
“That’s not what I meant.”
She’s so real for that.

There is always a way for those clever enough to find it.

'Stars', she whispered, 'I can see stars again my lady'

Your fatal flaw is personal loyalty, Percy. You do not know when it is the time to cut your losses. To save a friend you would sacrifice the world.

your loved ones have been used to lure you into Kronos's traps. Your fatal flaw is personal loyalty Percy. You do not know when it is time to cut your losses. To save a friend you would sacrifice the world.
And i love you for that

Looking up in the sky, I saw the stars were brighter now. They made a pattern I had never noticed before- a gleaming constellation that looked a lot like a girls figure- a girl with a bow, running across the sky. "Let the world honor you, my Huntress. Live forever in the stars.

And, whoa!" He turned to Mr.D. "Your the wine dude? No way!"
Mr.D turned hi eyes away from me and gave Nico a look of loathing. "The wine dude?"
"Dionysus, right? Oh, wow! I've got your figurine!"
"My figurine."
"In my game, Mythomagic. And holofoil card, too! And even though you've only got like five hundred attack points and everybody thinks your the lamest god card, I totally think your powers are sweet!"
"Ah." Mr.D seemed truly perplexed, which probably saved my life. "Well, that's...gratifying.
Oh look, it's a picture i took of you the first time i ever came here. Look at you, so young and happy. Where did the years go

Brother,” Artemis chided. “You do not help my Hunters. You do not look at, talk to, or flirt with my Hunters. And you do not call them sweetheart.
He can call me sweetheart anytime

you're a stalker with hooves."
"i am not! i followed her to the big house and hid in a bush and watched the whole thing.
.... Understandable

Love conquers all," Aphrodite promised. "Look at Helen and Paris. Did they let anything come between them?"
"Didn't they start the Trojan War and get thousands of people killed?"
"Pfft. That's not the point. Follow your heart.
I'll never forgive them... But that's from another book

Apollo turned and grinned, jangling the car keys on hs finger. "So," he said. "Who wants to drive?"
I already like him
