This was my first book by Kennedy Fox and while I didn't really enjoy this book, I can say that it won't be my last book of them because I really want to read some of their other series!
I've tried writing this review multiple times and I always end up spoiling something, so to keep this spoiler-free:

1. I decided on three stars because I didn't really care about the main characters, Eli and Cami. 

2. In the first quarter, the characters would be a certain way during their POV and then completely different when changing to the other POV 

3. I wasn't very sure about the premise at first, and I've just come to realize that books set during the current pandemic don't really capture my attention and I will be steering clear of them.

 What do you do when the whole country is in lockdown? 
Cameron St. James, heiress to her family's fashion empire, and NYU senior, heads to her family's remote cabin to isolate in peace. She plans to focus on her last semester, and maintain her valedictorian status hidden from the paparazzi's prying eyes. Elijah Ross is a broke real estate agent living with three roommates who aren't taking the threat of the pandemic seriously. So when his best friend offers his family's mountain cabin as a quarantine oasis, Eli can't say no. Elijah packs up food and his Doberman Bruno, and heads for the cabin, ready to work remotely and focus on getting the promotion he's been chasing. 

 But what happens when things don't go as planned and you're isolated with the one person you can't stand? 
Well, you improvise, and try to stay away from each other. But soon hiding from each other turns into movie nights and cooking together. And something more than friendship starts to bloom. With the unknown haunting them, Cami and Eli turn to each other- until their safety is threatened. 

Okay, so I loved this!! It was just what I needed during this lockdown. I loved that it followed our current reality, but really focused on the characters. 
I liked Cameron. She starts as your typical rich princess, but she's also incredibly smart. She's graduating top of her class, and is crazy smart in school. But because of her upbringing, she can't even cook for herself or do laundry. It would have been easy to hate her, or at least roll your eyes at her, but the author really made you feel for her! She's an honest character who's learning and growing, which I like. And I loved the realness of her struggles.
Meanwhile Elijah is working and struggling to make it. I liked their history, growing up together. And he's Cami's brother's best friend. I liked our glimpses of Ryan (brother) and Cami's best friend Kendall. And I can't wait for their book! 
I loved how Cami grew into an independent woman through the book. Eli helps her learn things, and she's always determined to do them herself and learn. She doesn't just rely on his skills, which I appreciate. I also adored their relationship. They had great banter, which is so important to me in a hate to love. And it's a nice level of heat too! I liked how the story progressed, and how it had twists I didn't expect. I think it was well done. It was a quick read, I finished it in two nights. I probably could have read it in one, but sleep stole me! Despite being about our current reality, it was a nice escape! And hey universe, it would be really cool if you could follow this timeline and get us out of this thing!! 

If you're a fan of hate to love, or brother's best friend tropes, this one is a great choice! Kennedy Fox always delivers on the hot romance and characters you can't help but love! Preorder The Two of Us, or grab it when it comes out! Don't miss it!!
