The Varlet and the Voyeur
Reviews

4 Stars Hilarious, adorable, fun, and pretty damn sexy. I've really enjoyed every book in this series so far and for an addictive light sports romance, I recommend them all!!

4.5 stars Will, a rugby player, has a problem when his reputation is damaged. What he likes to do in the privacy of his own bedroom is leaked and twisted in a way that isn't true. He wants to make sure it doesn't happen again, so he needs someone to come and keep him in line. Josey. still lives at home, but when she fins out her parents are having financial difficulties, she needs to find a place of her own soon. Will and Josey need each other at the same moment, but for different reasons. Josey movies in to Will's apartment to work for Will. Of course, what starts off as a work relationship starts to change. This story is filled with a lot of sweet moments, but also a lot of moments that had me laughing out loud. The characters are very relatable and you just want them to be happy. I loved their friendships and the dual POV. This made both characters very real and easy to understand. This was my first book in this series, but this is truly a standalone. I didn't feel like I was missing a part of the story. In fact, it only makes me want to read the others more. These authors know how to make characters you want to love and hope for their happily ever after. Not only that, these characters could be just like us. Even Will seemed like a guy you could meet somehwere and not just a famous athlete. That made me love this story even more! Full review can be found here: https://thebookdutchesses.com/2018/06...

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. I'm fully convinced anything Penny Reid writes is absolute gold. I've still yet to read one of L.H. Cosway's solo efforts — I do own tons of them, I just need to make the time to read — but I echo my earlier sentiments in relation to the books they co-author. I've loved each and every one of the Rugby books so far and The Varlet and the Voyeur was no exception. It was funny, sexy and gave me plenty of the feels I want when I read. I can't even lie, I freaking loved Josey. I want to be friends with her in real life. She was (at times, unintentionally) hilarious and awkward and absolutely amazing. She was so very relatable in so many ways. I also liked how she owned her sexuality. More of this, please. Will was pretty much fantastic in his own right, too. Swoons for days with this guy. I wasn't sure I'd be totally onboard with him because, well, the voyeurism thing is a bit of a turnoff for me. BUT, there was so much more to Will than this sexual preference. I couldn't have been more wrong about him. Josey and Will's friends with benefits to more romance totally worked for me. I loved getting to know each character and spending time inside their heads made the story that much richer. I especially enjoyed getting to know more about Will, who was pretty closed off and secretive. Seeing him open up to Josey made me happy. Their banter was top notch, their chemistry intense, their journey not without bumps — which made it realistic, and their connection solid. I loved every little thing about this book. I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. FAVORITE QUOTES Was I somehow defective, or did everyone get anxious in social situations? And if everyone did, how come my resultant verbal dysentery was so pronounced? Did I have some sort of vociferous diarrhea gene whereas others had vociferous constipation? "You are a sexy male! I mean, you're just very man-like. And sexy. You're definitely a man, but you're also a very... sexy man. Who is very male." "Are you interested in ordinary sex? "No, I'm interested in extraordinary sex. With you." My brain parts were still a bit of a jumble, but my lady parts couldn't wait. @JoseyInHeels: When your life starts falling apart, cheese is the cement that will hold it together. "You're not nobody. You're everything to me."

Originally posted at Booklovers For Life L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid individually are phenomenal writers. Each of their romances are smart, unique, and utterly enjoyable. But when you put these two fantastic authors together, you get something explosive and unputdownable, which is exactly what The Varlet and the Voyeur was. It’s a sports romance, yes, but it was also so much more than that. These two authors are always able to take a romance to the next level, and if you’re looking for a story and characters who are unlike anything you’ve read before, I highly recommend this Rugby book! Rugby player William Moore is a voyeur – but he’s trying not to be anymore. After the media exposes his kink for watching couples have sex, his career and reputation takes a hit. Now, he needs someone who can keep an eye on him and prevent him from falling into the dark hole that is voyeurism for him. Enter Josey Kavanagh – an awkward, rambly, adorable mess who is in need of housing. Their arrangement works perfectly for them: Josey will babysit Will in exchange for free rent. How could anything get complicated from that? Will and Josey couldn’t be more different. This book is definitely falls into the opposites-attract trope. Will is a GOOD guy, despite the mess he’s in. He’s an all-American boy from Oklahoma, quiet, respectful. Josey is the kind of awkward who won’t stop talking and blurting out random facts. It’s endearing, and luckily Will thinks so too. As they become roommates and get to know each other, the attraction between them grows, but they try to keep feelings out of the equation… I’ll admit, it gets frustrating how they won’t admit their newfound love, and I just wanted them to confess their feelings. One thing that surprised me though was how SEXY this book was. Awkward Josey is a total horndog for Will, and I loved it. The steam was hot as hell, but I loved how different Josey was in bed than out of it. I can’t recommend this book (and series) enough. I adore the writing, the characters, and the stories. I’m incredibly sad that Will and Josey will be the end of the Rugby series, but I have a little hope for some secondary characters… Honestly, I’ll be happy as long as Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway continue to write together. Thanks to the authors for generously providing me an ARC to review.
