I’ve been watching the show for as long as I can remember. I received the first compendium as a gift a year or two ago and was SO excited to see the difference. At first I was hesitant because of the change in characters, like Daryl just didn’t exist in the comics. That was a big deal for me since he is my favourite character in the show. But, as I continued to read them I realised that the story was just as good without. 

Every. Single. Compendium. was insane. I loved every second. There were so many twists that quite literally gained an audible gasp from me and just as many that bought me to tears. 

It’s strange to know that it’s ended, the walking dead has been a huge part of my life and now I know the full story. It’s strange, but I also couldn’t think of a better way to end the series.

I read the comics after watching the series and thought the show did a great job of staying faithful to the books while still introducing its own flair. Most of the story arcs are taken from the comics, but a lot of the characters are switched around. For example, in the show Rick is with Michonne, but in the books Rich is involved with Andrea! I can appreciate the small changes that makes the show its own, but I love when adaptations are faithful to the text--and The Walking Dead balances it in a great way!

Vseh 192 stripov plus nekaj specialov sem prebral v nekaj letih, niti sam ne vem kdaj točno sem začel. Ko sem izvedel, da se je Kirkman le odločil zgodbo pripeljati h koncu in ne v neskončnost mozlti uspešne so franšise sem dobil zagon, da sem v nekaj dneh prebral še zadnjo četrtino v obliki Compenduma #4. Nikakor mi ni žal. Čeprav bom pogrešal like, ki so z leti kot prijatelji, s katerimi sicer nimaš stika, ampak kadarkoli lahko nadaljuješ pogovor tam, kjer si ostal, mi ni žal, da je konec. Vsaka (dobra) stvar se mora enkrat končati. Srečno, Rick, Michone, Carl in ekipa. Bad ass ste!

Zadnji del sem prebral v negotovem času (prvega) lockdowna zaradi Coronavirusa. Podobnosti med zgodbama so več kot očitne, a za resnično zgodbo se trenutno nikomur ne sanja, kako se bo končala. Prav veselim se ta komentar prebrati čez nekaj let.

Well, the eye has finally decided to go on vacation from the comics books. They couldn't find someone to fill in the void, so they just did a cover up.



Honestly, this volume was kind of boring. It was a filler really. Some people are not happy how Rick and the gang have just taken over and basically go a little ballistic. 



And that's about it, really. As I said: filler volume.

This is what I was waiting for when Season 6 of the TV show ended. Compendium Three covers issues 97-144, which go from the last ~2 episodes of Season 6 up to who knows where. With how different the series has been from the comic, I'm looking forward to being surprised and annoyed in all new ways as my expectations are dashed by the writers.
