We try to protect the people we love from certain truths. But I'm not sure that's always right, or fair. If we don't talk about the monsters in this world, we won't be ready for them when they jump out from under the bed.

This line really stuck with me throughout the entire book and made me question...what lengths would you go to in order to protect the ones you love? The Wife and The Widow really delves into the psyche of parents and family and Christian White does a fantastic job of telling a story through different time lines and showing the progression of madness and love through Abby and Ray's family. Should you sympathise with the choices they made to protect their children? It's up to you.

This book was interesting to read. Had 2 perspectives throughout which I really enjoyed. Amazing plot twists and storyline. Great mystery and suspenseful book for crime/drama lovers.

Those that have read The Nowhere Child know that Christian is able to write a story that takes the reader on a wild ride and keeps them guessing. This very much did the same but not as well. 

I still really enjoyed the plot and the multiple POV and short chapters that kept the suspense growing but I enjoy his other book better. 

Christian White is a new Auto Buy Author for me regardless! This is an excellent Dark Phycological Thriller
