Just read it!

In Evelyn Lozada and Holly Lorincz's lightly inspired Pride and Prejudice romantic comedy, two unlikely people discover the error of judging by first impressions and the beauty of family, friendship and love. Darcy is incredibly handsome, obnoxiously proud, and has a major chip on his shoulder. Hara can’t think of a man more arrogant and infuriating. However, fate keeps bringing them together—from locker rooms to elegant parties, to the storm of the century—and what begins as a clash might just be more complicated than Hara anticipated. When she begins to see Darcy in a new light, Hara is not quite sure if she should drop the ball or play the love game.

What the fuck did I just read? This would make Jane Austen weep if she was still alive today. It was God awful and my brain is still processing what I just read.

"The Wrong Mr. Darcy" was too choppy at parts for my liking and didn't flow consistently. Moreso the sentences and most scenes ran into each other alongside the pov of the lead characters who were less impressive than most. It was like too much was happening all at the same time that it just became off putting. Like how much could happen in the span of 2-3 days? Plane delays because of rain, severe storms, unexpected pregnancies, and all around sports drama. About ¾ was unnecessary which includes the sex scene that was unexpected and would have been better if the author left an illusion that 'fun times' occurred. I was cringing throughout this Jane Austen inspired modern piece and needless to say, this missed the mark.

I was so excited for this book, as I love a P&P retelling. This is not that! The author simply uses character names from Austen's work and has a hate to love relationship. Pride and Prejudice is more than a hate to love relationship and often this is not translated to so called 'retellings'. 

I really found there to be too many conflicts to follow. The drama between the women was a little too cliche--oh my friend likes this guy so his girlfriend is obviously a terrible person--let's be more original! 

Perhaps this was just the e-copy ARC but I found the transitions between Hara's and Derek's point of view to be very confusing. I often did not realize I had switched characters and had to reread some paragraphs. 

There were other parts of the story that just didn't make sense following previous events. The ending was also so odd. It went from the worst to the best in two pages...I am just not sure how that is possible.

This was just okay. I'm going, to be honest, and say I did really love this book. I wasn't a massive fan of the writing style and there were some characters I couldn't stand. I didn't like the first half of the book, the second half was more action packed so I liked it a bit more. That being said the second half was kind of over the top and I didn't feel like there was any expalnation for how things ended. It all happened so fast and then It was over with no questions or answers. Overall it was just an average read for me if you want somthing quick and easy I would say give it a chance.

Well, I was searching through books and came across this one. The cover and really called me, but wow, boy was I disappointed after I finished reading this. 

The plot is not definite, the characters have no energy or chemistry, things just keep on happening and everyone is thinking about their own self, in short being selfish.

Hana keeps on reminding herself that she's going to reveal the story of the decade which will help her boost her career as a sports journalist. 

Derek's aim is to play this season so that he can prove himself. He's not very trusting and his bestfriend has secrets. Eventually he gets tied in between the drama. 

When these two meet, there is nothing. No sparks, sexual tension, romance, chemistry, nothing. Both of them keep continuing what they do and at the end find themselves together in the crossfire.

Very disappointing. All that's related to Pride & Prejudice is Derek's surname which is Darcy. 

To be honest, I'm very very disappointed. I really began the book thinking that it'll eventually improve, but it never did. 5 hours all gone in the drain.

This book was terrible. I didn't finish it. It's a Pride and Prejudice retelling in the very very very loosest sense of the word and it went off the rails so badly after a while that I couldn't even see P&P in it anymore.

Ms Jane Austen would roll over in her grave...

Things that I didn’t jive with in this one:

-No real chemistry between the MC’s. They basically fight and disagree 95% of the book, and make out and hook up the other 5%.

-The pacing was off and the dialogue felt stilted.

-The situations became more and more unbelievable as the book went on (like telenovela/soap opera unbelievable)

 -It felt like the author put little to no effort into research and just threw things on a page. For example, our female MC is named Hara, and she tells our male MC that her name is Japanese and she was named after the Greek goddess Hera... First off, Hera and Hara don’t even sound the same. Second Hara in Japanese means ‘belly’ or ‘stomach’ Why would anyone name their daughter belly?

-Very little of the story reflected Pride & Prejudice at all. Only a few vaguely similar character names and two MC’s who disagree with each other a lot.

-And finally, the extremely crude language- multiple uses of a man calling a woman a c***, and other sexually crude references towards females.

Overall I don’t recommend this one.
