Billie Albatross and Her Time Traveling Mom

Fourteen-year-old Billie Albatross hates surprises. So when she discovers that her single mother is a time traveler from hundreds of years in the future and her ordinary small-town life becomes a thing of the past, Billie struggles to keep up. Chased by chronofficers - temporal agents tasked with righting the balance of time and space - Billie and her mother escape into the future and set off on an adventure that will forever change the course and meaning of Billie's life. With the chronofficers hot on their trail, Billie and her mother Pandora arrive at a colony on the Moon. As if it wasn't enough that she's in a new and unfamiliar world, Billie also finds herself investigating the sudden and mysterious murder of their one and only ally in the future. Resisting her mother's desire to keep Billie away from any danger, Billie insists they must do the right thing. Following the mystery's trail of clues, they come across a colorful cast of human, alien and virtual characters scattered on both the Earth and the Moon as well as across different time periods. What follows is a fast-paced adventure story that is always kept grounded by the deep and loving relationship between its two unlikely protagonists, even if that relationship can't help but strain under the fact that Billie's been lied to about her mother's past - and the identity of Billie's father - for her entire life.
