A lovely and touching book. Some of the dialogue felt unrealistically poetic (read: pretentious) at times, but still enchanting and beautiful and a hell of a lot better than John Green, anyway. Fantastic, three-dimensional characterisation and an ability to juggle multiple third person points of view and different intersecting storylines, all adorned with a almost-but-not-excessively poetic writing style, in a way that reminds me of Khaled Hosseini. The women are especially well-written. I adore them.

Goddammit, I really want a sequel. You can't just leave me hanging on that ending, Umrigar!
