This Much is True

This Much is True A Grumpy Single Dad, Opposites-attract Stand-alone Romance.

Tia Louise2020
A smart and sexy romance about a grumpy single dad on a mission of revenge, and the girl he can't leave behind by USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise. Hope I blame the alcohol. I lost my restaurant business, was forced to sell my dad's cherished 1967 Chevy Impala, and I got a little drunk. Now I'm waking up with the hottest, angriest guy I've ever seen, speeding down the highway like a bat out of hell. Ice-blue eyes hit mine with stomach-clenching force... And he swerves onto the shoulder, ready to kick me out. Needless to say, our romance doesn't start out sweet. J.R. Two years ago, I hugged my little boy goodbye and told him I'd be right back. Next thing I knew, I was arrested and sent to prison for a crime I didn't commit. Until they let me out early... Now I'm headed home to confront the man who put me away. A lie put me behind bars, and I'm ready to find the truth. I don't have time for a sexy girl with pale blonde hair and bright blue eyes stowed away on the backseat of my new car. My mission is to get my son back and clear my name. Love is not on the agenda. It never is, though, is it? (THIS MUCH IS TRUE is a single-dad, opposites attract, stand-alone romance. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

This is my first standalone book by Tia and I absolutely loved it! I loved Hope, JR, his brother Scout, Jesse and their Gran, they all created the perfect story and they had some amazing and heartbreaking moments too. The book is told while the pandemic is happening so it was nice to read a book detailing how the characters were acting through that time. Hope was awesome, she had to put pause in her dreams because of the pandemic but despite all she never gave up, at first she felt like she didn’t know what to do but meeting JR and Scout gave her the perfect opportunity to take a break even if at first they had some complications. JR was amazing too, he had been in jail for a crime he didn’t commit, leaving his 3-year-old-son Jesse behind and after releasing him after 18 months all he wanted was to get revenge and get his little boy. So he calls his brother Scout and he plans a road trip to their hometown. He never imagined finding Hope in the back of his car so at first he wanted to leave her behind but thanks to Scout that never happens and it begins their adventure. JR didn’t want to interact with Hope but their glances and looks were inevitable. I loved how JR started to warm up to her and how little by little his walls were crumbling down thanks to her. Hope was attracted to him from the beginning but he was grumpy and angry all the time but that didn’t stopped her, she kept asking him questions about his life and his son, until they formed a bond hard to break despite the hardships of JR’s prison life. They had some steamy scenes, after the heated looks in the car and the motel, they finally combusted and it was really hot. They had some good and bad moments but they all lead to their HEA and it was all worth it. Next is Scout’s story, which was a wonderful character too, he was funny and charming and I loved how he always felt Hope was destined to be with his brother. So I can’t wait to dive into his and Daisy’s story!
