It pains me to say this, but I was a little disappointed by this book. It’s still incredible, but against Tijan’s impeccable standards, it falls a little short. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure why. A lot happens in this book, but also, not a lot happens. It felt a little disconnected from the first book and I think it’s because I don’t feel like the crew was really involved in what was going on. They were kind of seperate for most of the book. I also wanted more romance. I know Tijan isn’t massive in romance, but I still wanted more overt happenings. 
I did love the development of Bren in this book though. She’s come a long way and it’s nice to see. 
I still love Cross, but think this book could’ve used more of his POV. 
Still, this book is great. I love these characters and can’t wait to see what happens next!
