LOVED IT! Unfortunately it is difficult for me to review this book through an unbiased lens because I have been a long time fan of Tim Burton's work, but that being said, this book was such a joy to experience. It was so exciting to see how the basis for one of Burton's landmark films was born and what his original vision looked like. The rhymes are simple but charming enough that I couldn't help but read them out loud and the illustrations screamed Burton's signature style with all the imaginative distortions, expressions, and delight one would come to expect from him. The only down side is the very notable absence of a very significant character that was featured in the film; though I won't spoil which one. All in all, I would say this is an essential read for any Tim Burton fan and an absolutely wonderful piece of art, both visually and textually.

I personally adore all that has to do with The Nightmare Before Christmas and Jack Skellington. The art was absolutely beautiful it reminded of color pencils and water color. Although it's completely different from the movie I still found it wonderful. I read this to my brother and the kid I tutored and they really enjoyed. Jack is such an iconic character and overall it's just a fun time.
