My happiness, when I found out every episode is based on a short story, was immeasurable. I am a big fan of those and I was amazed that someone used that and excellent animation to bring it to life. While I was watching a tv show after every episode I would research and try to find the short story on what the episode is based on. It was a bit tiring and confusing. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw this. It is a great anthology even without watching the series. But it is also great for comparing two different media. I am thankful for getting to know some writers I wouldn't pick up just yet, for example, Alastair Reynolds.
