My book bestie read my all time favorite book the thornbirds, and in exchange she gave me hers.
She is an OG Canadian who has introduced me to some award winning novels written by Canadian authors and Pilgrim is one of them.
With a complex blend of true history and fantasy, I was entranced and couldn’t wait to know more about the man named Pilgrim.
He was brought to a psychiatric ward after killing himself for what some thought was the second time, and being pronounced dead only to be found breathing again.
Dr. Jung is ready to heal Pilgrim, starting with getting him to speak again.
Sybil, a mysterious woman and friend of Pilgrims’ seems to know more than she is willing to let on, but is adamant on her friend fully living well.

This book time travels through Pilgrims journals, having you question some real characters in history such as Leonardo de Vinci and Oscar Wilde, and pilgrims experiences in his immortal life.
In the end I found myself questioning was Pilgrim merely insane? Or maybe Dr. Jung was....
