Joe put the phone on the edge of the bed and sank to his knees. He put his chin on the bed, staring at the phone as Ox breathed. Kelly eventually sat next to him. Carter did too, all of them staring at the phone, listening to the sounds of home.

He looked strangely pleased. “I’ve never had a secret with you before.” “Uh, yeah. You have. You’re a werewolf. I’m a witch. That’s like, so secret.”

“Alphas need constant validation, apparently. Though she didn’t need much convincing.” “Yeah. I can see that. You’re all a bunch of needy bitches.” “Fuck off, Gordo.” “You’re doing a good job, though.” “Thank you. It’s nice of you to—oh, you asshole.”

“I invited her to go along with us, but she said, and I quote, ‘I would rather watch my ex-boyfriend and his werewolf mate have sex.’” He frowned. “I think she actually meant that too.”

“I’m not grumpier than normal,” I said. “I’m always like this.”

“You know,” he said, voice a little hoarse, “I hope you guys are on your way to working out whatever the fuck is going on between the two of you. I mean, it was really gross to watch my uncle carry you up the stairs in his arms like some damsel in distress and snarl at anyone who tried to go into his room to check on you.” I turned slowly to look at Mark, who suddenly found the wall very interesting. “You did what?”

“You tried to grow a mustache?” Mark asked me. “Gross,” Kelly said, nose wrinkling. “We can smell that, Uncle Mark.”

“You could have become the villain, Gordo. And it would have been within your rights. Instead you just chose to be an asshole.”

It’s about the fact that I haven’t gotten to kill anything in weeks, and it’s starting to piss me off.” “You do get grumpy when that happens.”

“Your threats don’t sound so bad now that I know you’ve got my wolf tattooed on your chest.” “Bite me,” I snapped, stalking off after the Alphas. Mark chuckled behind me. “Oh, I will.”

“Hey! I’ve been shot. You’re supposed to be nice to me.” “You were grazed. And then let women carry you back.” “That’s because I’m a feminist.”

He was nine and I was six when he spoke to me for the first time.

He grimaced and looked down at the ground. “A little. It’s like . . . the earth. Like dirt and leaves and rain—“

I hated him more than anything in the world.

When Ox had let spill that the Bennetts were back in Green Creek, my first thought was

but I pushed it away because that was the past and I wouldn’t have any of it.

They were all so different, these lost boys.

All three were assholes who didn’t know when to shut the fuck up. And I was stuck with them.

Like the earth. Like dirt and leaves and rain—

I threw the phone in the dumpster and didn’t look back.

I hated that. “Does he? Don’t you ever think what his life would be like if you hadn’t found him?”

Joe laughed bitterly. “All the time. Every day. With everything I have. But it was—it was candy canes and pinecones. It was epic and awesome.”

I leaned forward and pressed my lips to his.

“I will fucking turn your tongue to silver if you don’t shut up, Carter. I swear to god.”

He grinned at me, waggling his eyebrows. “Is it

kind of dreams? You know, the ones where you and Mark are all rubbing on each—you know what, I just realized that’s my uncle and I’m going to stop talking now.”

Goddamn Thomas for leaving me with these assholes.

“Oh, I know,” he said easily. “Ox did, though. So.” He shrugged. “Kind of the same.”

“The last time you tried to work on a car, you set it on fire.”

“Right? Weird. Still don’t know how that happened. I mean, one moment everything was fine, and the next there were these

“You were supposed to be rotating the tires.”

“Why does he still think we’re mind readers?” Kelly whispered.

“I don’t know,” Carter said. “But don’t remind him we’re not. I like learning things that will scar me for life.”

Ravensong: Green Creek Book 2

I am so completely invested in this series. This pack deserves some peach and I hope by the end of it, they find it!

Gordo and Mark’s story was one full of heartbreak and love and finding their way back to each other…. And it was fucking perfect in how much it hurt.

It's the vampire diaries if it were gay werewolves. Do I think its a masterpiece? No, but I'll also eat it up at 4 am instead of finishing that assignment due yesterday

Well…It was better than the first one. My feelings of it being so unhinged it’s addictive still stands. Again, Klune does great with angst. There’s great moments of dialogue and prose/description littered throughout the book. The relationship and struggles between the MCs were better written and more interesting than the first book. Some parts even made emotional this time. But, a lot of my complaints from the first book bleed over into this one. The age gap between Mark and Gordo…I still don’t understand the choice to make these characters not be the same age. I really don’t think the story would suffer at all if Klune had decided that from the get-go. The human male side characters are borderline insufferable (the comic relief annoyed me, and I felt like it slowed the story down) and are so similar it’s hard to remember who is who. The first 25% of this book was very slow. I’m not a fan of books that recap things from a different character’s POV. I usually get very bored of it pretty quickly. After the 25% mark, it picks up though. I’m hoping the writing style will continue to improve in the next and final books.

** spoiler alert **
you know when you read a really good fan-fiction and you feel like it’s the best piece of literature ever written, even tho it’s absolutely NOT, but you feel like there’s drugs in the pages? yeah. that was this book
- first of all i would like to *stands on box* *grabs megaphone* *whispers urgently into megaphone* “THEY ARE EVERYTHING TO ME”
- like, i don’t think any green creek couple will top them, ever. they’re dynamic, the angst, the fluff, the heartbreak, the TRAGEDY akdjakkskd
- young Morkdo(yes, this is my ship name for them) is so🥲 Mark is so protective i CaN’t-
- but TJ…buddy….what’s with the age gaps, man? is it necessary? no. maybe a lil bit, maybe
- Chris, Tanner and Rico🤞🤞 but i would maybe like more female characters, and for Rico to yk…NOT fetishise wlw? guess you can’t have everything
- also Bambi is my wife and Jessie and Bambi are the superior couple. argue with the wall
- i would like to say i don’t care for the plot really AT ALL. like, none. i could probably not care less. anyways
- i hate myself for loving it so much but Mark & Gordo make me emo, it’s not my fault

lol sorry I couldn't help myself because this book has turned me into a total idiot :P
Damn this entire book for completely destroying me!! I'm already prepared for the major book hangover that's going to follow and I'm also already dreading and anticipating everything that's to come in book3
Please, please I just need my Bennett pack safe!

So I loved Wolfsong when I read it, Ox and Joe's story is beautiful and I originally thought wow what a great standalone. To hell with that idea!! I can't believe I could even think this story could be contained in a single book because this proved how much deeper this world and story truly goes. Safe to say Ravensong really got me and I'm 110% invested in this series! Where is the next book when you need it?! My heart is so full of love right now, but I'm also currently dangling off a cliff and would like to find solid ground soon!

Reading from Gordo's POV absolutly amazing
Gordo and Mark's story tore me to pieces
The entire pack can they just adopt me?
...Now that was one phenomenal reading experience!!

Que puedo decir? otra obra de arte que sigue la maravilla de wolfsong, amo a mark y gordo y como les lloré, es más, escribo esto con lágrimas en los ojos porque no puedo creer que se acabo 😿 5/5 sin dudarlo

A bit more fanservice and predictable than the first, but still a great novel. This is shaping to be one of my favourite fantasy series.

Second books in a series always make me nervous, and especially so when they’re about a character(s) that weren’t necessarily standouts to me in the first book.

BUT.

Gordo’s rough exterior was completely explained in this one and it really endears you to him more. His and Mark’s story isn’t one of easy or complete fluff; it was was raw and painful and chaotic, but somehow perfect.

I thought the continuation of the storyline from book one was really well done—Ox and Joe are still very much a part of the narrative, but they don’t overshadow what this book’s focus is. And the Epilogue!!! Eeeeek.

As always: I love the Bennett pack.

2nd time and I had remembered much less than I thought I would have so it was almost like a first time read. And I think I loved it even more this time around.

Gordo is literally a Tortured Hero and he more than earns those capital letters.

My first finished book of 2021! We are off to a GREAT start.
