Vengeful Lies

Downright horrifying book I can’t cope 😓

First of all this should be on wattpad, the amount of times we’re reminded of his gray eyes and how she likes guns and isn’t like other girls and her mom doesn’t like her and she’s used to men (her dad and craig) and she’s prefers knives over heels and how she’s not like the other women that submit and obey and have fake tits and bleach blonde hair and cute dresses and like birthday parties while she likes pizza and Pepsi and leather pants cause she’s “badass” blah blah fucking blah give me a break you were hopping on his dick too weren’t you?

Besides the absolutely horrendous writing style in this, there were too many errors in the syntax of the sentence and grammatically (things ao3 authors don’t do btw!!) 

The amount of misogyny portrayed both internally for the fmc and very outwardly with the men had me gagging at them,

“I don’t give a fuck what you do with her besides fill her belly with a child”

 - love me a good breedingmachine bloodmare woman that pops out babies like no one’s business in a patriarchal system (mafia world) !!!

“but I’m not like the women you men are clearly used to.”

I won’t keep going to keep myself mentally safe.

On another hand what kind of whack-ass name did they give her “Jewel Diamond” okay Lily Blossom Bloom, mind you all the other characters had weird ass names (Honey, Hope, Lena Love…) Anya, Rya and Billie were the only acceptable ones I fear.

This book is a 13 year olds fantasy about the mafia and being a baddie with guns, the whole time it felt like I was reading someone’s shifting script to a mafia au  (the someone being a 13 year old discovering her first wattpad book that came out in 2016)  

The dialogue and comebacks aren’t “badass” at all and are actually quite corny (the 13 year old hits once again) 

 “First of all, I would never suck your cock, and I pity any woman who does. Second of all, ‘cunt’ is a lovely word, so don’t use it as an insult when it’s a cunt you want. Unless you prefer the sausage, that is,”

The wedding dress shopping scene was traumatic and my therapist would be hearing about it if I wasn’t ashamed I didn’t drop the book when it first started.

The “plot twist” wasn’t a plot twist at all (I knew who the contractor was since the second message he sent jewel ) 

Too much smut not enough conversation between the mcs and there truly was close to 0 development in their rs so the romance and the use of the l-word was a shock to me.

I miss the person I was before this.
