Clearly, I'm in the minority here which I admit always feels weird because it doesn't happen a lot. I loved T.M Frazier's King series and I've enjoyed a few of her other books too but I'm not sure about this one. So yeah... this new series is kinda a let down because I wanted to love it and I saw the potential for it to be great, but the emotional attachment wasn't really there. I think that was mostly due to the insta love between Grim (Tristan) & Trix (Emma Jean) and the scenes between them as kids technically an almost teen and a teenager. I didn't believe their one encounter and two letters created this bond that lasted those five years. I mean she carried his locket and he looked for her every day, come on really?! Actually, all the characters felt underdeveloped and the plot was compelling but it was a bit too rushed for me. I will say that cliffhanger is a doozy and if the goal was to get me to pick up book 2 then it succeeds. So yes, I will see this series through to the end but I hope it gets better and expands on the characters more.
